North/Clybourn is an 'L' station on the CTA's Red Line. It is a subway station with two side platforms, located at 1599 North Clybourn Avenue, in the Near North Side neighborhood of Chicago, at the southeastern edge of the commercial Clybourn Corridor. North/Clybourn station is located at the intersection of North Avenue, Halsted Street, and Clybourn Avenue. North/Clybourn was opened on October 17, 1943.HistoryApple advertising rightsOn August 12, 2009, the Chicago Transit Board approved an ordinance granting Apple Inc. advertising rights to the station and the exclusive lease of the bus turnaround for nearly ten years in exchange for refurbishing and landscaping both. this stop is super convenient, there’s a Starbucks, and it’s close to the Apple Store
Convenient location but this stop needs some serious improvements. Long flights of stairs to get back to the main level. I don’t expect CTA stations to be spotless but sanitation must be improved in the lower level. Safety is a concern.
Very nice location for setting and waiting
A little soap and water would go far to make this station more presentable. Keep the drunks and homeless moving couldn't hurt to improve the atmosphere. Maybe the station appearance more accurately reflects this city's administration of smoke and mirrors.
If I could give no stars I would. This stop never has a working escalator. There are atleast 4 flights of stairs coming northbound and they expect you to walk/run up them all. I'm sick of this stations lack of empathy for those with a disability and/or breathing trouble.
This train stop is in the middle of everything, but could seriously use a renovation or a good scrub. It gets pretty gross sometimes with all of the homeless / drunk people peeing wherever they please here.
Car 5593 at 5:45 on 7/9/18. This train driver is phenomenal. Giving life advice and useful info at each stop. We need more like him!
Another one of those Redline Stations . Classic Retro Original Style Decor ! I try not , to be too Busy when passing thru an Iconoclastic Structure in our Great City . Great Stuff ! ×××××××××××××××××××××××××××× Just passed thru several times in the past week , due to my purchase of a Gi-Normous I-Phone 6-3/4 " Diagonally . From the T-Mobile store at the NEX of North & Clybourn . The store is offset , due to the Diagonal Direction of Clybourn . Significantly , more Northerly and Slightly more Easterly than a True North - South & True East - West Intersection . Speaking about the T-Mobile Store , they have one of the Smartest & Kindest Associates I've ever Negotiated with in my Lifetime ! If you need something or just have a question , be sure to go in & ask for Mr. David Nguyen . Of course you would be well served if you have a T-Mobile Account ! Now , getting back to my most recent Assessment of the Redline Station at North & Clybourn . This venue is very old and the CTA crews in charge of maintaining & cleaning this Station deserve some High Marks ! I am Profoundly Greatfull ! Mr. Carlos Navarro Community Leader
Popular CTA station, but desperately needing a thorough cleaning and modernization. Considering the massive nearby development, the fact this is not an accessible station is deplorable.
