The staff and physicians are professional and courteous at all times. In spite of the deluge in phone calls and wait times they respond in a professional manner and they are helpful and always try to support as needed. This is a busy office but the care is stellar. Never had a negative experience! Excellent staff and wonderful physicians and nurses.
To bad we have to give at least 1 star! I get UTI's commonly and go septic. I asked the Dr to check my urine because I was pretty sure I had one. She hit her hands down on the table and said when you talk to much to the Dr the Dr quits listening and walked out of the room. I left and went straight to Camarena urgent care and tested positive. The Dr was shocked when I said I had just asked my own Dr to check. Also I went through hell to get my inhaler refilled, it took like a month of continuously calling the call center and them getting the messages wrong . I hate dealing with the call center, why can't you call your DR office???
Aside from Dr. Barker and her team, this place is a joke and can't do their job. They never answer the phone and take forever to get referrals out, if they ever actually send them. I don't recommend this place to anyone unless they have kids. Dr. Barker is a fantastic pediatrician.
The doctors, nurses, and staff here are all wonderful! I was nervous, being a gender-diverse person in Oakhurst and a first-time patient here, but everyone was super nice, supportive, and very welcoming. I arrived to my appointment on time and there was practically no wait time and I received exactly the care I needed. The reason for the bad reviews, I think, is mainly due to the call center that gatekeeps the phone calls for Adventist Health. The call center’s average wait time is indeed 30-60 minutes, so by the time they transfer your call to the Oakhurst branch, the staff at the local office are already at lunch or even gone for the day, which can be frustrating. There also seems to be a shortage of medical professionals, because I had to wait 5 weeks to be seen by a doctor. But I just wanted to establish care with a caring PCP, get a referral, and renew pre-existing prescriptions, all of which I was able to do. Dr. Helen Monnens and her team were incredible, so the 5-week wait was definitely worth it and I’ll be coming back for sure!
I sat on hold for 30 minutes. No option for a call back or what place I am in line. I finally hung up. How many customer service people are there? I guess I need to drive down and make an appointment in person. This really needs improvement. I see complaints about this going back years. It gives a bad perception on the doctors, which is not the case. Do you want business? Answer the phone!!!
Terrible all around - 1 Star - after 4 months going to this place they drive you crazy. They are severely understaffed and schedule your appointments about every month and that’s if you get ahold of the office over the phone they put you on hold forever say they will call back only to not do it or say they will reschedule only to not do it. Also they lose reports from outpatient services or they simply do not put them in your chart online and when asked to see the reports nobody responds to messages. If your thinking about going here STAY AWAY and you will avoid a huge headache.
Dr. Robin Sjostrand continually breaks laws with no regard or consequences from Adventist. She is currently under investigation by the board of psychology. She had her own patient commit suicide while she was on the phone with her. I definitely wouldn’t put my life in her hands. Clearly she can’t even handle her own patients.
Very pleased with the medical service and the Doctors and friendly staff. Dr. Kevin saved my husband's life when he diagnosed his kidneys situation and sent us immediately to ER. We've been with them for more than a year and are thankful for their service.
This use to be a great place to go and get great customer service and staff was helpful. I went in for imaging and the person that was at window was rude!! It use to be you can walk in and get things done. Apparently things have changed. I have no problem with that. She repeated herself twice saying that I need to call 800 # and schedule appointment. I heard her the first time however I wanted to ask another question and she went for 3rd time of repeating policy. I said I heard you the first time and she acted if I had attitude, when in Fact it was her! Whatever happen to Customer Service and being polite and helpful. I would never recommend this place again. Very unfortunate
Just switch your insurance, you'll never be seen. Always get hung up on or never pick up the phone period.
