I was almost deterred by the negative reviews, but tried it and had a good experience here. I was greeted almost immediately. There are 2 waiters and the other is noticable more friendly than mine, but mine was still accommodating and polite, though not especially attentive. He gave me a few recommendations and I went with a basic bacon burger. They cooked it exactly as I requested and the fries were actually better than average. Everywhere in the airport is overpriced, this place is no exception, but if you're going to pay $40 for a burger and a drink you might as well enjoy it, which I did. Overall I'd recommend giving it a shot.
Tuesday 5:30pm. Not crowded, servers were very quick and attentive. Got the Spicy Beef Sambusas, it was pretty good for airport food. Plantains were excellent. I did not have issues that some other reviewers stated. Food was hot and flavorful. It was served in a real plate with plastic silverware.Food: 4/5
Had a long layover and decided to have a drink and meal. Was able to get a comfortable table and was helped right away. The drink was good, sweet and strong. The food was tasty and flavorful.
Went in to get some food before our flight. It said to seat yourself which we did. 3 other groups came in after us. The waiter took menus to the 2 of the other groups sitting beside us, 5 minutes later he dropped them on our table and walked away. Another 8 minutes and he goes to all the other groups that came in after us and took their orders, then walked away. At this point we left, we were very disappointed in the service, not to even be acknowledged, I get it’s an airport and they get busy but that was ridiculous.
Ordered two pints 3/5 local pale ale and IPA and the African beef sambusas with rice and fried bananas served on a paper plate. The food 2/5 was just OK, not hot, the sambusas like Indian samosas were not crispy and seemed microwaved. Perhaps the burgers are better. The bar area has a serious fruit fly problem. They were flying everywhere. AFTER settling the bill and tipping, I mentioned to my server that the fruit flies were annoying and that they should do something about it. He just said, “yeah, it’s a problem.” And walked away. Great service guys! Just ignore the customers that tip you. You should listen and fix the problems for future guests. Poor Service in America never ceases to amaze me. With just a little bit of effort, you can easily satisfy customers and improve things for future customers. Seriously, how hard can it be?
Not sure about the negative reviews, but this is my go to spot on mornings I'm flying for food and Bloody Mary's. Decent service and decent food for an airport.
I am giving this place a five star rating for two reasons. 1 The food was phenomenal. I had the salmon platter and it was delicious. And I never in my life thought I would have plantains that good at an airport! 2 The service was top notch. You see, we had vouchers from our airline after a major delay as did many other customers. What I now know is that in those situations I need to carry cash because the vouchers did not allow us to give our amazing waitress a proper tip for her hard work and service. She was kind and friendly to us despite it being a busy restaurant with limited staff. She also was kind to customers who we observed being very rude to her. The vouchers did not easily work with their system so it took three times as long to process payments, but she pressed on. We will definitely make it a priority to eat here when we are at the airport based on our experience.
I'm still sitting at the table, and I'm just astonished at the poor quality of the jollof rice I just ate. I just paid $23 for this terrible food. It was the worst jollof rice ever. No salt or seasoning. Portion size was extremely small. Plantains were not very well cooked. Samosas were ok, but not great. I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered. I got the chicken wings for my daughter, and those were decent, and the French fries were really good.
If I could place 0 stars- I would. My bf and I came to eat here on 5/23/23 @ 4:15pm. The sign instructed us to seat ourselves, so we did. After waiting nearly 15 min- nobody came to help us order. However, during that wait- we watched another waiter man who worked the bar area or front area serve multiple people & didn’t even blink or offer to assist us with waters while we wait or whatever happened. Instead, he continued to ignore us making sure others were being helped but not us. Finally, I decided to ask for menus since nobody even greeted us - including the guy helping others & walking past us multiple times. When I asked for menus- he not only rolled his eyes at us but he proceeded to throw our menus at us- making it very clear he was annoyed that we “bothered him”. As soon as he threw those menus- my bf and I got up and walked out. Who treats customers like that? Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Seattle/Tacoma airport unless you like being assaulted with menus by the waitstaff.
For airport faire it was pretty good. Never mind the TV was pixelated and that the lights flickered constantly. I was hungry and got some delicious chicken wings and chicken tenders. The didn’t have coke products in thick is fine. All in all was a tasty bite at a slightly janky airport venue.
