Cool air force air armament museum that is entirely free to visit donations recommended. The building is two stories of static displays and video narrations. Outside the building, there are static displays of various US, British and Soviet aircraft from WWII, cold war and present day 2024. There is a shaded and covered picnic area with grills. This is a good stop to spend a few hours.
Beautiful museum even though we was only able to explore the outside since we came after hours. Really wished we had the opportunity to go inside but this was just a coincidence stop we made on the way to Tallahassee from Pensacola. Pretty sure inside the Museum would be more impressive. Definitely will have to make another trip down there to explore in depth of this awesome museum. Free to get inside the Museum but donation would be great to maintain these masterpiece. Plenty of history and amazing real Aircrafts, jets, missiles, ammunition, B52, helicopters, and many more to see in person. The SR-71 Blackbird and MOAB was the best. This is really a hidden gem for all military history and museum lovers.
Very educational museum, located on or around Eglin AF base. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. And very detailed in explaining everything in and about the museum. Kid friendly and a wonderful gift shop inside!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Very nice! Gentlemen at the Reception Desk was literally brushing up on his already extensive knowledge in order to share a great experience. Detailed descriptions on each exhibit. Planes outside are great to walk around and view. Looking forward to the African American Military addition they have planned
Great museum and a gift shop. It’s fun to look at different cross cut sections of ammunition. Museum staff are knowledgeable so ask questions and enjoy learning. Thank you for the free admission to the general public!
Fantastic arrangement of historic aircraft! The B17 was enough for me, every thing else was a bonus. Each aircraft has a sign with statistical data next to them, as does everything on the grounds. I did NOT get to go inside the actual museum because I was there very early on a Sunday morning passing by. Beautiful display. As always, be respectful and do not touch the displays as tempting as it is.
I've lived in FWB five years and have never gone into the museum. I finally did because my family was visiting town. The museum is amazingly very interesting and rich in history. The exterior is fully packed with different types of aircraft. The inside of the museum has two floors with tons of historical information. Both floors are very well organized and displayed. Watching some of the video footage on warfare was somewhat emotional. The first floor also has a weapons display, which is extraordinary. The volunteers that work the museum are super friendly and welcoming. It was definitely a neat museum, absolutely recommended. best part of the museum ITS FREE.
Amazing! There are so many aircraft on display. There is also a very informative museum with lots of displays, videos, photos, artifacts, etc to experience and learn from. We just happened to pass by it in our travels and turned around to spend a few hours walking through it all inside and out.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
For anyone who has ever been interested in aviation or seen a documentary on US military actions, this is a must-see. From the fastest SR-71 Blacbird to the iconic P-51 Mustang and B-52, this place has it all. The exhibits on bombs, missiles, and guns is better and more comprehensive than any other museum I've ever seen. Even the Smithsonian has lent pieces to the museum. If you manage to meet the meet the director of the museum, you are in for a treat. His knowledge of the history and details of the items on display is incredible. Make sure you plan on spending the whole day if you want to see everything in detail, although a casual walk through including the planes outside would only take about 3 hours.
Great place to visit if you're looking to kill a little time before the airport. Tons of equipment and information to look over and read. Staff were very friendly and informative. I would definitely recommend visiting if you have a little extra time.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entryFree
