I've been coming to this mall since I grew up here in the 80's. It's certainly fallen a long way since then. All the anchor locations are closed. The entire wing where the food court was and was mostly occupied by a church last time I was here 6 years ago is closed and inaccessible. Surprisingly, though, there are still 22 occupied spaces in what's left, with a couple of light food options, an FYE, Hibbett Sports, and Old Navy doing their best to provide some incentive for coming here. There are still a couple of mini play spots for the kids, too. Malls are a concept whose time has passed, and SRM is just a sign of the times, but there is just enough semblance of life left here to warrant two stars instead of the one I thought I'd be giving.
Way different than it was when I last visited 18 years ago. We drove over an hour to go here just for something different and was disappointed to see there isn’t much left of this mall. Not even a food court. It did have a couple of places to eat, though. From what I can remember, there was an FYE, Old Navy, some fashion clothing type of stores, Planet Fitness, and that’s about all I can recall. We didn’t stay long.
I’ve been going to the mall since 2008 when I got stationed Eglin AFB, I’ve seen a lot of things come and go. We love taking the kids there bc it’s Clean, fun for kids to wonder around, play at the small playground. Even having the New Pokémon store as been super cool, gives us a perfect reason to the mall look around. I’m basis but opening an Axe on Jacks at the Mall would bring more people to the mall :
Me and my husband visited this mall today. It’s pretty much dead. All the major stores are practically closed.There were just a select few stores that are still open. All court food restaurants are gone other than a pretzel place. We used the restroom and some stalls had out of order signs, probably been that way for a while.
Went for the Wentz Brothers Halloween Haunted House's there are 3! on opening night! Excellent experience!
Very sad...the businesses are all closing. No longer appealing to visit this mall. There is an Old Navy, Planet Fitness, Shoe Dept and a few other mom and pop type places. Even with those, the chocolate shop seems to always be "closed today" I'm sure due to a lack of employees. Such a disappointment. Maybe they should just tear what's left of the mall down.
If you like dead malls, you will love this one. It's on life support. Only a matter of time before someone decides it's time to pull the plug. It was awesome in it's peak, but those days are decades behind us.
Pure ghost town. Terrible poor management, year by year it's going down the hill, especially with the NBI as a "management". Save your time, and go to Cordova mall in Pensacola, where you'll find amazing shops, great selection of eatery and entertainment!
It’s a shame that there is no new businesses that want to set up in the mall. These days everything is strip malls and stand alone box stores. The malls of America need to make a come back! Support your local mall!
Young Philosophers Society - 300 Mary Esther Blvd, Ste 65 Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548 Great place to have a Birthday party for a 5 yr old. The Art teacher wasn't my favorite. She needs to be more free with the children like just let them paint what ever if they are not listening. Hell its a party. Who ever listens at a party.Haha The guy there Chris was so so nice and helpful. Great person. I give him a Way to do your job. I hope you get more customers. The room was very large. Great party place. They can do Art and dance. You can bring your on food and drinks . Thats a plus with todays family's They do have a women's and Mens bathroom's inside. Very clean. Ty
