Aki Japanese Restaurant

This is the best sushi I have ever had and most likely will ever have. The food is so fresh and the flavor is phenomenal. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. This is my second time traveling from New York for this food, and I’m looking forward to my next trip down so that I get to experience this delicious food again.

Liked it so much we ate there two nights in a row. Very fresh, as other reviewers have said. Try the Kathy roll, it’s a work of art! Sliced avocado on top. I also enjoyed the burrito roll both nights. We have found our new sushi place on the North Shore. Always great polite service. Fast plating of dishes.Food: 5/5

This place was great!! The staff was super friendly and parking was convenient. We were greeted and seated right away. We had our sushi within a few minutes of ordering. We will definitely be back!

Small renovated home in downtown Covington turned sushi restaurant. We love sitting at the sushi bar and chatting with the chefs. All the fish is very fresh and delicious! Also- they do not fill their rolls with excess rice as fillers. Presentations are always beautiful. Rotating special menu.Food: 5/5

We had a wonderful lunch. They start you off with a delicious cucumber salad which is delicious. The presentation of the salad was wonderful. We then split the Spicy Salmon appetizer, sorry no picture for that, and the presentation and taste were superb. We then shared the Teriyaki Box and the taste and presentation again. Were superb. After we ate, they finished us with fresh cut pineapple, a great way to cleanse your palate. We will be back here again.

By far the very best sushi establishment there is. Quality is unsurpassed, as is the service. It ranks well above Uchi Austin. While not cheap, you get what you pay for. Their Toro is to die for. Make sure to make reservations.Food: 5/5

Definitely the best sushi joint on the north shore. I ordered the dumplings and the George roll. They also have FRESH REAL wasabi second pic which is very hard to find in general. They give you a free piece of pineapple after for a desert. Very good service. I will continue to come back here.

Incredible, always. Is somebody told me that they do like sushi but don't like Aki, I would either think they were joking, or I would never trust that persons opinion about anything. Ever. It's that good.Food: 5/5

Great sushi, and great people. The restaurant is in a cozy former house. The sushi rolls were all top quality, fresh and delicious. The edamame, gyoza, and salads were all delicious. Can't go wrong. Check out the pictures!

Aki is owned by one of the best and nicest sushi Chef’s around. His sashimi is off the charts as well as the rolls. If you are in the. NOLA area and are into fresh clean, non mayo style sushi you must give it a try. Anytime we are within 100miles of his restaurant we try and make it to see him. Unfortunately my pictures are not very good as I like to spend time eating rather than photoing. On this visit, our server was well versed on the menu making the trip even more enjoyable.
