I could not find a thing wrong. The server was great. The food was delectable. The atmosphere was quaint. Seafood gumbo: highly recommended. VooDoo Crawfish Rolls are my new favorite appetizer. Crawfish stew: five stars. Catfish: thumbs up!Food: 5/5
We decided to dine in at New Orleans Food and Spirits for a birthday dinner, and the experience was awesome. The waitress was very attentive and was fast with fulfilling requests from the table. The food was warm upon arrival, and she ensured we had water or other beverages in the glasses before we were done drinking. In addition, the food was seasoned well and very tasteful. We were greeted by the staff upon entry, and the waitress was very nice throughout the dining experience. I would recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area want to grab a good meal.
Interesting place to eat. Good news is that there is a ramp for handicap / limited mobility people that runs along the side of building. Front steps can be a challenge, as well as parking is limited on street parking. The five of us had various dishes at lunch. Everyone was satisfied with their food, but nobody raved about their dishes. Not a chain restaurant so that is a plus in our books. Half shrimp Po boy and gumbo, half shrimp remoulade and bisque, stuffed eggplant, fish with pecans.
Saturday night around 8 only had 30min wait. Food was great. Seasoned nicely and good presentation. Shay was our server and she was also great. Very engaging and attentive. Would recommend this place. Also very close to the interstate, which was super convenient
This is by far my number 1 goto place when I visit relatives in Covington. The seafood here is always fresh and tasty. If I had to recommend something here that you just have to try, it would be the gumbo! We've even taken it back home in a cooler for family. I just can't get enough!Food: 5/5
The service was great. The food was phenomenal! The restaurant is a bit small but worth the wait!Food: 5/5
Our family stopped by this restaurant on the road trip from Florida to Texas. We were really happy with our choice for lunch! Delicious and fresh food with great service in a wonderful ambience! I don't remember our waiter's name but he did a great job! Will definitely come back if we get a chance. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The only thing that prevented 5 stars was the inability to bring in a birthday cake. I understand all other types of outside food and such, but if i choose to celebrate whatever milestone, goal, achievement, etc, a cake is in order. Otherwise, the facility was nice. Service was great and prompt. Food was amazing. Simply not a place to celebrate.
Had an unfortunate experience. Ordered 3 appetizers, one of those appetizers got missed by kitchen staff. They offered 4 people 2 small cups of gumbo. Instead of offering 4 cups to offset the missed appetizer. But was told they could only offer the 2 cups. Wife says that's disrespectful. Then they rushed out the 3rd appetizer under cooked cold in the center. So she voes to never to return. Ruined her evening. Forced to sit there and debate the situation.
Y'all. If you're in the area and get the chance, do not hesitate to eat here. It's the best of the best. I took pics of everything. It was all amazing. The staff is also stellar. The atmosphere is relaxed, clean and comfortable. I love all the windows looking out to all the greenery outside. Best gumbo anywhere. By far. Everything was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Fresh, bright veggies. Crispy sweet fries. The sliced french bread... So soft and airy and delicious. I could list everything, but just trust that it's all done exactly as it should be. Even the iced tea was fresh brewed and refreshing. The portions are generous. We'll be good for another couple meals, lol! We ordered more than most would, so naturally we spent more. The pricing is definitely fair for all you're getting. First chance I get, I'll be coming back again and again. Pictures: Spinach & artichoke dip, sliced bread drizzled with oil, Chargrilled oysters, sweet potato fries, Seafood gumbo, Spinach salad, Caesar salad with fried shrimp. The last pic is too show the generous portions.
