The best place to watch a movie and enjoy a cold beer! This movie theater is very cool, unique, and has an really retro vibe to it. It's very refreshing that it's not like all the regal cinemas which are boring. This one has really comfortable leather seats with a long table infront of each row, so the wait staff can place your food and drinks in front of you. It's really nice to have such a wide selection of beer and food for watching a movie! Thanks, I'll be back for sure, this is my new favorite theater!
Amazing theatre. Great staff. Put on vantage great like champions. Have never met a mean or rude employee in any trip. Best way to watch movies hands down. Wish there was one near lexington ky.
Nice theatre and prices can be cheaper in the afternoon. The theatre itself is very dark so good for viewing, but terrible to navigate if you enter after they start the trailers. Good customer service and big seats.
I was skeptical of the "movie and dinner" concept, and this confirmed it. Main points: 1 Movie screening itself is great, 2 If the theater is at least halfway full, don't expect more than 2 refills of "bottomless" order, 3 Seats are comfy but a bit narrow given the dining concept. The facility itself is fine -- clean considering how much food is served, presentable, and the screening/volume/lighting of the movie. What I wasn't a fan of was the dining portion. [1] The lights under the table are super dim understandable during the movie -- but even 15 min before the movie started the lighting in the theater were so dark that it was hard to see the menu yes, we used our phones but it felt dumb considering the movie hadn't even started. [2] How often your order gets checked and delivered, plus accuracy. I get it, labor shortage and it's a big space. But once your order is taken, the paper you use disappears and the server ends up having to navigate in the dark to figure out which group in your row ordered what they have. The walking room they have is also small, so they have a hard time walking towards the middle of rows. This results in slower delivery time, and if you want to order or ordered "bottomless X," you may not get that with correct timing unless you actively flag the server. Overall, it's a one-and-done experience. Fun concept and pricing isn't terrible, but for me I'm willing to trade the in-theater dining portion and "bottomless" options for more comfy, spacious seats, which I know many AMC theaters now have at a similar price point.
Love this location, even if it's now about 40 minutes away, the sound is always cranked, and the food is exceptional. They're still using the old style bar tables that makes getting to and from your seat an issue if you're in any of the center seats. The location specific policy to apply a default tip to the bill is... Ridiculous. Not because of the tip itself, but because of how it's messaged. Just roll that cost into the food, don't be sleazy and notify people on screen before the movie. Continue notifying customers, but put the amount into the cost of the food. The "surprise" boost in cost isn't the greatest customer experience, whatever social policy or covenant you want to appear to abide by. Also, why not just make it 20%? That's what I would have tipped.
Always love coming to this movie theater - it's my favorite in Austin! The customer service is always great, the location is great, and the ambiance is nice. I love that there's a little cocktail bar next door and that there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Not that you'll be hungry! Alamo's gluten free pizza is awesome, their popcorn is freaking addictive, and their shakes!! I love their shakes, boozy or not.
Gotta love Alamo Drafthouse. For the long, hot summer in Austin, TX, I decided to pay for the Season Pass plus one guest pass. It’s a great way to enjoy a bunch of movies both new and old at my neighborhood theater. The Alamo on South Lamar is well maintained and the staff is great. Prices are about what you would expect to pay for food and drinks in Austin in 2022. The food is okay - not awesome - but just fine. I have been disappointed in the popcorn a couple of times. I think I’ll skip the popcorn from now on and just enjoy a soda or a beer and save my food budget for something else in the area.
I used to love Alamo but in less than 5 years, they will become of the Blockbuster of movie chains. I applaud the fact that they brought alcohol and real food to movie theaters, but you have to evolve. It’s almost 2023 and we have to put our order on a piece of paper and hope your incredibly high food server sees it and actually picks it up and actually brings you a beer? Tonight that entire process took over an hour and it’s not the first time. How about a button? How about an app that lets you order from your seat… Anything … be better… because there are already others that are doing it and I’ll be going there next time.
Great place for a different kind of theater experience. I understand why people love it but personally it's not my favourite. The pros are that you can order food and it's a cool experience, servers are super friendly and well organized. Screen was ok, the reason I am taking away 2 stars is mostly because the seats were super tiny in comparison to other theaters. Like literally touching with person next to me I am a petite woman and the seats were not deep at all. If you don't really care about that and are down to get good food and beer then this would be a great place for you.
So so fun and so festive! Feels like a place to go watch movies if you’re a film lover. Fun spot, went two days in a row because it seems like the only place in town where you can find any of the films that are coming hot off the festival circuit. Definitely a special experience! Also they’ve got the best popcorn!
