Last weekend I rented from Alamo based at the Rochester NY airport and from the moment I checked in with Raymond G at the desk, the pace was set for ease and success. He was as friendly and accommodating as the rest of the staff I encountered. I had no issue with the rental: the car was clean from the outset and very easy to use - even though I am among those who is not easily accustomed to the keyless cars! The young lady who checked the car back in was a delight. And imagine the smile I got when I saw that my final price was about $20 lower than my reservation. Also, I booked them via a discounted program that partners with ADP. So, I definitely will seek out Alamo in Rochester again!
Great service that I’m very happy with. My husband and I usually rent cars while commuting state to state,and last month we came upon Alamo. We had great experience so far. Had some late droff off concern and one of their agents Max sorted it all out. I’m very glad to be an Alamo customer. Definitely going to rent again or maybe every time we’re in New York. Thank you. We rented from the Rochester Airport and it was a great experience. From gentleman doing the paperwork and offering me a bottle of water to the time I obtained the vehicle. Service was quick, courteous and very professional. I have rented from other agencies and the experience was nothing like this. We will definitely rent from them again and we have referred friends and family!
I'd give 1/2 star if possible. This will be my last rental from Alamo. I had made a reservation on-line approximately one month prior to my pick up date. Arrived at the Alamo counter at the Rochester airport mid-day. Was offered a upgrade from a standard car to a small SUV AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. Great, right?. After a lengthy check in process with a lot of distracting and unnecessary questioning by the rental agent I signed the agreement and started to walk away to pick up my vehicle. I stopped to look a little closer at the rental agreement and noticed the charge for my 4.5 day rental had increased from approximately $135.00 to $499.00!. I went back to the counter and questioned the agent Ron. Luckily I had my reservation saved to my phone so I had proof of my agreement. Ron claimed he had "no idea what happened" which was BS and after more back and forth changed the charge back to the $135.00. Later I went on-line and read many very similar negative reviews. It's obvious that this is a upgrade scam by Alamo and or it's agents to fleece their customers. I've rented cars many times over the last 30 years for both business and personal use and I guess I've gotten complacent when dealing with well established national chains. No more and definitely no more Alamo.
I originally booked a reservation with Budget for December 24th, and when I got to the airport the car rental place was closed. Alamo was the only car rental open, and they were very accommodating. It started snowing really bad and the car I had started to slip a lot, I contacted them to get a more sturdy car, and Ron assisted and even gave me an upgrade for the same rate. Very helpful, will definitely book with them again.
Great rate, service and car. What more could I ask for. I've rented with Alamo many times and it's always been good. My only issue is that they do not let a spouse drive the car unless it's as an extra driver in which case you pay an extra fee. Other car rental co.'s allowed my wife to drive the car as part of their normal policy with no extra fees.
This was one of the more pleasant rental car experiences I have had. Ray at the national rental kiosk was most helpful and friendly. Received a larger vehicle then reserved which actually came in handy this trip. Drop-off is a breeze at this airport and there were no surprises.
There is nothing like follow through to satisfaction. I rented from the Rochester Airport location. We had questions once we actually got to the car. No one was in the lot where we picked up our car to assist us. I called the local number on the contract and after so many rings without an answer I finally hung up. Getting customer service would have required me to take the LONG walk back to the rental counter inside the airport. I don't like that....
This is the second time I rented a car from Alamo in the Rochester Airport. The staff was courteous and attentive. There was no wait when I picked up and dropped the car off. I drove a Jeep Cherokee and it was new and clean as was the Toyota Avalon I drove the trip before. I will be making several trips to Upstate NY over the next few months and will be renting from Alamo every time. Thank you!
There was some confusion on the charge but Alamo quickly resolved the issue with no argument. The agent I talked to was extremely nice and reassured me at every step. I will rent from Alamo again. I am stunned at how well this was managed. Superb compay.
