After Avis refused my already paid for a reservation and said they couldn't take my credit card, I was in a panic. I went over to the Alamo, Enterprise, National stand. They were very friendly and helpful even before I got a rental from them. They answered my questions and helped me decide who to go with. I chose Alamo. They accepted my card, got my paperwork completed, and got me on my way. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I will definitely be renting from them again.
Have done many rentals over the years. My Alamo experience at CAK was awesome. Pick up and drop off super easy. Vehicle was clean and appears to be well maintained.
I needed a car for two days until my tire could be fixed. They gave me a dirty car that smells like dog or smoke or something. They also mentioned a dent in the front of the car but it was obviously in a fender bender. I need to survive this car rental but it is gross. Rented from Almo Canton-Akron airport. I added a few photos I took.
AWFUL customer service. Beware and stay far away from this location and company. One of their clerks literally ask my husband to go outside with him so he could fight him. I will be calling all the way up the chain to report this worker
Well Tamika and Dustin at the Alamo at the Akron/Canton airport is AWESOME, AMAZING and I just can't say enough good things about them and their service, pricing and customer relationships. When Alligant airlines totally messed up reservations these two jumped right in to help not to forget to mention they were very patient and worked with us till we had a solution to the problem. They were amazing!!!
Agent at desk seemed unprepared for customers. My understanding is that they had more customers arrive on flights than normal. However, I had a vehicle reserved as did most of the others in line. We were all told to wait until vehicles were cleaned and delivered. It is admirable that they were taking time to properly clean vehicles, it is hard to understand why reservations did not help them prepare for arrivals. Vehicles were brought to the front one by one as they were completed. Customers were offered whatever arrived. By the time they got to me, I had to turn down a few pickup truck, midsize, etc. before getting something close to my reserved and paid for vehicle. Satisfied with the car eventually, but after sitting in baggage claim and waiting a half hour it made the whole experience stressful and unpleasant.
Before I rented from Alamo, I specifically called and asked if there was a charge for my spouse to drive. I was told spouses are no charge. I got to the rental desk at 11:30pm and I was told if my spouse wanted to be an additional driver, it would be an additional $10 per day. I explained what I was told and they didn't care. It was too late to argue. I paid it but I was not happy. The car was great and the return was quick and easy. But I am not renting from Alamo again!
Ok service, we got a bigger car than reserved and may have been charged a surcharge for it. We were charged an extra fee for married people per day which is really stupid and defeats the purpose of renting from Alamo. We also had to go to a different counter with three employees talking all over each other and the "manager" saying they all have different rules for different things. My drop off was smooth
My husband and I had a great experience from Alamo at the Akron-Canton Airport recently. The rental agent, Mo, was great! He was very friendly and efficient. We were offered an upgrade to a Camaro which made my husband happy probably his only chance to drive one!. The customer service we received from Mo should be a model for all companies and will definitely encourage us to use Alamo again.
Here's how it happened in details: Found a coupon online to rent a full size car for 3 days at a total rate of $46 including tax and fees. At the airport, the agent who was very nice by the way did his job of trying to sell me all of the additional options a rent a car company could offer. But, I kept saying blindly no for each and every question. Then, he said you're picking up earlier than scheduled so I couldn't hold myself and I pointed out to the watch saying it's only 5 minutes earlier, which prompted him to apologize and blame the system for it. He then handed me a key of a small SUV 2017 Jeep. The car had very nice look from outside but no USB port, which would have been fine if the lighter was working to plug a USB charger. But the USB charger was most likely purposely turned off to prevent smoking inside the car. Anyway, I did an interstate round trip with 1500 mile total for $46 and $140 gas, averaging a 23-24 MPG. I could have had more efficient car, but For the price I paid I am satisfied. Returning the car was quick and smooth. Thanks Alamo!
