Great access to interstate 90. Road noise is significant. Rolled in late and used tent site. Fortunately I had a small fan and some headphones to reduce noise. Not a huge deal. Not a modern KOA & the bathhouse could use some updating for sure. Seemed quiet from a camper standpoint but we arrived at midnight and hit the road before 9 am. KOA is usually a premium price and with my KOA rewards, still near $50 for a tent site with electric…. So overall it’s a good spot for a quick overnight camping site— Served my needs and a safe spot to camp overnight.
We had a wonderful stay at the Albert Lea KOA! We were there for a long weekend and had awesome service. We were in a kind of tight spot, so we were given a few other sights we could move into. My husband and the gentleman walked over to look at the alternative sites. My husband mentioned one had a big divot in the space, so we picked another one. As we were getting set up, the manager was already filling in the divot in the other spot! We were told they were all full, but never did it feel that way. The lots had large mature shade trees, level pea gravel sites and was beautiful and peaceful! We could only get a non-sewer site, but they offered to pump it for us! We would def come back to chill!! The SPAM museum was awesome in the neighboring town of Austin! Nearby activities: Spam museum, Skol Tavern and Bar, Furball Farms Cat Sanctuary Safety: Safety lighty, Security lights
I enjoyed my stay here and as a Koa member I write reviews to all the places I visit I have been to 100s of koa's throughout the US this one was very nice the only issue I had were the bathrooms were not very clean and they did not have a functional pool I found the pool at a far end of the property which in its former glory must have been one beautiful pool unfortunately today it is filled with black water debris, mattresses and wash machines, more of a landfill then a pool anymore. I hope to one day come back here where they have restored any lost amenities and fully enjoy this campgrounds full potential.
Although the bathrooms could use some updating, it doesn't detract from the overall experience. This place boasts an excellent location extremely close to the highway, making it a convenient stop for those traveling on I-96.Rooms: 5/5
Nice lots with mature trees. Well maintained and outstanding staff. Very dog friendly with small dog park and groomed walking paths with plenty of poop stations to keep it clean. Very quiet even though close to highway.Rooms: 5/5
The campground is convenient to I-90 heading east or west. Not too far away is a couple places to eat and get fuel. Nice campsite with plenty of room between sites.Rooms: 4/5
I was very surprised by this place. It is normal for there to be many people on vacation. We were 2 families, 4 adults and 4 children. In order to build 2 tents in this place, I tried to order 2 spots, but they didn't take the order because they don’t like a lot of people. Why??? In the previous days, I had rested for 4 days in other branches of KOA. If you really don't like serving a lot of people, you should include it in your presentation. Because I couldn't use my discount night!
Well groomed lawns, restroom /Showers very clean office staff friendly Called said they were full Come in they may be able to help which they did after a long hot drive only negative no pool. I would definitely stay again .Rooms: 5/5
Clean bathrooms, clean and well kept grounds. No pool any more, it's filled in. Friendly staff. Location is near a busy road so you will hear traffic, but for my family it wasn't a big deal. Nearby activities: We went to the Albert Lea Aquatic Center Pool, we enjoyed it and it was a good price, $4/person as of June 2023.
Blah. It's a fine place to spend the night while traveling through but there is absolutely nothing to do at this koa. We had read reviews of an rc track but it was removed some time ago. Playground Iis new but is for little little kids.
