We just checked out of Adventure Bound. The kids and my husband had an awesome time at the water fight. The pool does get a little packed but honestly, it worked and it was clean. The sites are very close to others but we didn't mind it as were an extrovert family. The only issue the whole time was the geese and their little dumplings they leave for the site but that's what we get for booking a pond site. Overall, it was an awesome experience and we plan on booking again in the near future. The staff was very accommodating and they really want to ensure you're having a great time and take care of their customers. I would recommend. Nearby activities: A lot to do for kids. There is the pool with slides, the bouncy castles, the jump pillow and many other activities to enjoy. Book during the water gun fight. It was so much fun! Safety: You can rent golf carts and the staff ensure you're following the 5MPH rule as there are A LOT of kids on bikes, walking and just running everywhere.
Even after fear the place was going to be a bust based on reviews here, our two camper group agreed it was a wonderful trip. All employees were friendly, bathrooms and pool were clean. There are great site spots in the back further away from the freeway. Overall great experience! Their welcome center store was always decent prices too, which make it affordable to purchase a shirt, pizza and ice cream! Also pet friendly with lots of pet clean up stations!
Rented a cabin, camper next door had a party right away with loud pounding music we could hear with the air conditioner on. Spoke with park personnel and basically shrugged their shoulders and said they’re having a get together. Would not recommend if you want a nice family time. They do not follow their own rules.Rooms: 2/5
***Do Not Stay Here*** They have their locals and their yearly members-that’s great! But for those that are just visitors you can feel it! Our site was located by a pond. We thought it would be nice and lovely. WRONG! Goose poope EVERYWHERE! I mean new and old! They could have at least tried to spray it prior to other people’s arrival. We left a day early that’s how uncomfortable we felt here. The water smells bad. Everything closes down at 8pm! The pool, the bounce house, the store. It feels like they make up rules on the fly. The older staff are so rude. It also was a “wet” weekend. I get people come to camp and get wet but when we’re at our site. Not sitting with water guns, baby’s in lap, reading a book. How dare you wet our entire site. One even squirt my 4 year old in the face. My mother had hearing aids. It just was a mess! Most had the decency to keep riding around on their golf carts engaging with people who engaged with them. But that tractor I guess had no rules. They close showers at 11 the problem with that is most are attached to the bathroom. So imagine my surprise waking up and walking all over just to use the bathroom! They monitor and enforce all these things but people were up smoking, listening to loud music until about midnight. I didn’t care, but it was so hypocritical to micro manage all this other stuff but not a noise ordinance. Everything was overpriced. Stuff was broken. Have a golf cart to feel included. Better yet-just stay somewhere else. We like Hayward in WI.
Fun campground. Very family and kid friendly. Only critiques I have is, we got a pull through and had to back up because spots were a little tight. And our water spigot was stripped so we couldn't hook up water. Other than that, would definitely visit again.Service: 5/5
While looking for a campground to accommodate my camper, and on short notice, was able to find this gem in my local area. It is nestled right off of Interstate 90 in Austin, MN but wouldn't know it by it's camping grounds. It is well-maintained with the wildlife making their own mark on their stay there as well geese, lol. Loved that there is a great mix of seasonal families and then the 'overnighters'. The owners and staff are simply amazing and very generous with their time and attention to your needs. Definitely looking forward to coming back with my kiddo. They had plenty of activities to keep anyone entertained, and also a pace to take it easy and relax. Nearby activities: Jumping pillow, Pool, waterslides, kiddie park, sand volleyball, ga-ga ball, playground, arts and crafts activities, corn hole area, arcade and trails. Walkability: Easy to walk the grounds of the campground. Also have golf carts/bikes avail for rent. Food & drinks: Have a convenience store and also a cafe on-site for anything forgotten/wanted.
This was advertised as a great place for kids and families. The place is so run down! The bounce houses for kids were filthy! The pool at the base of the water slides is so rough it's like hitting full grit sandpaper at the bottom. It took rhe skin off my toes. There were several injuries skinned knees, bloody nose, pulled muscles.in the twenty min we were using them. My kids decided they were too risky and did not use the rest of the time of our stay. The cement is broken in the bathrooms and the stalls are extremely dirty and all the laundry tubs were stained possibly hard water. It looks like at one time it might have been as advertized but at this point it needs a major overhaul to meet expectationsset by advertising. Icing on the cake 175.00 for two week nights. Will not return..maybe ok for a 1 night stop but not a safe or clean facility.
I needed to cancel our yellowstone trip as my husband got ill. I called on August 20 to cancel the 28th. The lady said NO REFUND.but would credit us for another stay. Did she not hear me!. My husband actually is having triple bypass surgery so our future to camp is unknown. She was not the only camp I needed to cancel. And the norm was they took 10% off. She took $98.78 for 1 nite. She did wish my husband well.
Date of Visit: 08/04/2023 - Leaving our reservation after one night. Would NOT recommend if you’re tenting, might be OK in an RV with the insulation to help with sound proofing. Some of the areas are well taken care of and others are in significant disrepair, completely depends on which bathroom you’re using or which campsite you get. Our picnic table was falling apart & our buddy’s electrical outlet would blow a fuse anytime anything was plugged into it - even just a small fan. The water in the bathrooms - we think it’s hot water only - smells like sulfur so bad it made us gag, so we definitely didn’t shower while here. Pros: plenty of activities and tons of kids to keep your kiddos entertained, plenty of drunks to keep you entertained if you’re into that. Cons: quiet hours are not enforced as people joy ride their golf carts hooting & hollering until 3 am we only got sleep from 3-6ish, you get to hear the semis jake brake all night long because it’s literally a stones throw from I-90, the main bathroom facilities close at 11pm so for those of us that pee frequently in the middle of the night… you’ll end up walking a distance or peeing behind a tree.
Just stopped in to get some water, figured we'd dump as a bonus and specifically asked if there was potable water to make sure we could fill our tank, they charged us 10$ and when we got to where they said, there was no water. They directed us to a site to fill water so it worked out. The rates seem really steep and the woman running the desk was snapping at children, definitely not somewhere we would have stayed longer, especially at 90 a night with a three night minimum when we're just passing through.
