Had to dump motor home tank... Very cheap.. it cost us $10.00. Alder Acres I find out has 3 different parks. They have a 55+ park. They have a family park and a campground park. They have restrooms and on site maintenance. There is something for everyone.
We needed a place to stay over the July 4th weekend in this general area and managed to book a spot here even though it was already the end of May at the time. The campground is located in an area with a mix of businesses and residential neighborhoods. When you turn on the road to the campground, the office is the first/immediate left, and there are 3 RV parking spaces to pull into while you check in at the office. You then return to the road and enter the campground via one of the next three lefts. Most of the pull-throughs near the road are for short-term stays, so most likely you’ll make the left turn and then almost immediately turn right to enter your spot. All of the roads and the site pads are asphalt, and the rest of the site space is covered with large stone gravel. Each site has a picnic table, but no fire ring or patio. The hookups are in the usual spot, and our site at least C2 was pretty level. Our site was long enough to fit our 21-foot truck and 37-foot fifth wheel while hooked up, but once we were unhooked we could only park the truck in the front of the site at an angle with some tires on the gravel. That only lasted a day: we got a call from the office saying that there were water lines running under the gravel and they asked us nicely to park the truck in one of the parking spaces next to the nearby clubhouse building, which was fine. I noticed the long-term pull-through sites weren’t any longer, but they had separate parking spaces next to the pad in the back. In terms of amenities, there are restrooms and showers located in three buildings: the office, a bathhouse/laundry room building on the east end of the campground, and a bathhouse across from the row of full-time residents which is probably mainly for them. The campground also has three enclosed dog parks, which were the only places within the park where you could walk the dogs all of the small landscaped spaces were off-limits. We could have walked the dogs to a grassy area down the road, but we were always able to find an available dog park so it wasn’t an issue. The clubhouse building also has a small exercise room with some free weights and at least one elliptical and one treadmill. There are two dumpsters in the park and a recycling area for corrugated cardboard and redeemable recyclables. The few long-term residents we talked to were all friendly, so this isn’t one of those campgrounds where the short-term campers are considered a necessary evil. In terms of cell service, the best speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was 12Mbps down and 25 up, but the bandwidth would sometimes drop off in the mid-afternoon and early evening, so there were days when I had to switch to the AT&T hotspot on my phone and evenings when we couldn’t stream video. The best speed I got on my AT&T smartphone was 79Mbps down and 18 up. The campground does offer basic WiFi 1 up/1 down for free for several days, and you can pay for higher bandwidth, but we didn’t try that as we ended up not needing it. We would stay here again if we were in the area and needed bandwidth for work bandwidth can be hard to come by along the coast.
Clean, well organized campground with nice pull through full hookups. I really appreciated the kind and welcoming staff member I met upon arrival! The dog parks were really nice, too, which was a great bonus for my doggies! Thank you for a beautiful site and a great visit!
I rent a lot from this location. The past 2years have been GREAT, Not sure about the new owners & what they will change!?! The gal in the office always seem pleasant hope all stays the same & NO DRASTIC CHANGES happen!!!!!
The park is average, but has very nice bathrooms and great areas for your dogs, and they can be off leash in a safe, grassy area. The staff is very nice and helpful. My only complaint is they do not offer cable. I'd stay there longer if they did.
I haven't been for many years to this rv park. But my experience then was amazing. This family that owned it had kids, they had lived in an old school and I just absolutely miss these traveling days.... This park if owned by those same owners is a wonderful place to experience an adventure. If not I sure wish you success and hope to be through another day soon! P.S. I've thought of you all my life since this experience many years ago with my grandparents.....
We stayed for a week and found it to be very convenient to the area and a nice clean park. Sites are asphalt with gravel between so no grass but sure kept my RV clean. Easy in and out, quiet with nice laundry facilities. Did not use showers etc
Very friendly staff that helped us with our campsite after hours. Clean bathrooms and showers. Very nice laundry room as well.
We were just using the dump station. As of 8/26/21 you could dump and fill with fresh water for $5.00, a bargain. Convenient and easy entry and exit.
Reserved a storage site effective on the first of the month and paid in advance for two months. Plans changed and went to the office on the first and was advised a refund would be mailed shortly. Two weeks alter visited the office and was told a refund would be mailed shortly. The month is about up and no refund. Will keep trying, but folks need to know this sort of thing about the business practice of this business.
