Algonquin Lunch Bar

Rustic full-service restaurant and pub near Algonquin Park. Sweet staff and tourist clientele. The menu is mostly classics. We went for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the fluffy, almost pillowy pancakes. Great place to jump off to the park for hiking and canoeing.Food: 4/5

Our waitress Tammy was friendly, patient and recommended some of the most delicious food. The restaurant was tidy and the service was pretty fast considering how many people were there. I will definitely be returning next summer on vacation! The cotton candy milkshake is delicious!! Kid-friendliness: Our waitress Tammy was so phenomenal with my 4 kids all under 7 years old , she brought them all colouring sheets and a few containers of crayons to share. She was even kind enough to play a game of tic tac toe with my 4 year old son. Booster seats and high chairs are available :

Super friendly staff, food was hot and fresh. We had a party of 8 people and all orders were correct, and really fast. Vanilla milkshakes are fantastic! Highly recommend stopping in when you are in the area!Food: 5/5

Rude the second we walked in. The 4 hungry people in our party gladly took our money elsewhere. We were however grateful that we didn't even need to sit down and start ordering before realizing what we were getting into. Rating the food 1 star regardless; if it's anything like the service, it's terrible. Don't give your hard earned money to people who hate you for trying to give it to them. There are plenty of restaurants who will appreciate your business much more. Avoid avoid avoid.

Stopped by here while waiting out the thunderstorm before our portage trip. The home made soup chicken noodle soup was fantastic. Cheap alcohol. Definitely recommend stopping by here if you're going to Galeairy/Whitney access point for your portage.Food: 5/5

Good food, terrible hospitality. This is the only place in the area to grab a bite to eat. Since we were the only folks in the place we wanted to stay and do a bit of work. Politely asked if this was okay since we had only been there for 20 minutes but were told that we had to leave so that the staff could take off their masks and clean up mind you there were no other patrons at the restaurant so this reason didn’t make much sense. We’re staying in the area for the next week but we won’t be coming back to eat. Disappointing because the food was good!

An amazing dining experience. I had the “Onions on Onions Cheeseburger”; one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. The fries were fresh, hot, and delicious, only needing a sprinkling of salt and some vinegar for those so inclined. All for a reasonable price. We stopped to grab two lattes on the way to the park. Service was quick and staff was very friendly.Food: 4/5
