Algonquin Provincial Park

What an absolutely spectacular park. We spent almost a week camping here and will definitely be back. The views are amazing. The air is so fresh. Spectacular service. Showers at the camp grounds and wildlife galore. Simply amazing.

Beautiful, one of the best places I've gone to for nature. Tons of hikes for all distances & difficulties, and the camping is unreal. The experience of waking up on a beautiful, calm lake with nobody else around for miles, surrounded by peaceful nature is hard to match Restrooms: Near the west gate there's a visitor centre with washrooms Picnic area: West gate visitor centre has an area to eat, plus some of the hike/canoe entrances have picnic tables

I embarked on a camping adventure with my partner, canoeing to a campsite for two nights. It was a truly unique and memorable experience. We had a lot of fun, surrounded by sublime scenery and escaping the concrete jungle. However, be prepared for the real deal—there are no toilets or cell reception. It's a back-to-nature experience that will leave a lasting impression.

a beautiful park which epitomises the Canadian landscape. there's a reason why the group of seven painted here! the lakes are spectacular and still, and there's lots of trails to walk for pretty much every skill level. I was only here for a day trip from Toronto lack of a car and reluctance to hire one but you could spend an entire holiday here portaging or just chilling in a cabin.

Beautiful. Serene. Not enough hours in a day, a week, maybe even a month to properly experience the park. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't visited!

Very beautiful place has so many lakes, trails and adventures to visit and enjoy like camping, fishing, barbq and canoeing. There are so many relaxing places to visit, full of natural beauty to refresh your mind and relax away from busy routines. Will visit this place again and again. Restrooms: Restrooms are available. Finally got to visit for a day trip and Algonquin Park did not disappoint...We pre-booked parking online and drove in through the East gate entrance. From there we headed to the visitor centre. You could spend half a day in the centre itself with all the fascinating history to learn about the park and the area. The kids 10 & 8 loved the interactive elements. There's one short hike that starts at the centre itself but we chose to drive for a few minutes to do the Beaver Trail which took us around 1.5hrs to hike with two kids and a dog. The trail was up and down, boardwalk / stairs in some places and some of it was soggy mud so would recommend proper hiking boots as opposed to sneakers but no big deal. You can see the Beaver dam on the way round and then get an awesome view of the trail from up high towards the end. After the trail we stopped off at Opeongo Lake around 10 mins drive away from Beaver Trail for ice cream which was another beautiful spot, popular with kayakers and canoeists. We only wished we'd had more time to explore but we'll definitely be back to try and get a glimpse of the wildlife - Algonquin is Canada at its most beautiful. Dog-friendliness: Unfortunately dogs were not allowed inside the visitor centre so my husband had to stay outside with him while I took the kids around. We took him on leash around the Beaver trail, wouldn't recommend letting them off as there were some cliff edges.

Hiked the highlands trail over 3 days. Lots of black flies, mosquitos and lots of muddy sections but gotta expect that going in May. Campsites were clean and lots of beautiful spots along the trail

A nice destination for a day out with a beautiful view. However, you have to pay a parking fee of CAD $21, which is perfectly acceptable. You can also get nice souvenirs there, such as stickers.

So many places to go! You could come here every weekend and find a new place to explore...another lake to kayak/canoe in...gorgeous area.
