A cross country destination camp for athletes in grades 7-12.
Camp is based out of Williamsville North HS with travels to other areas in WNY for training.
All-Western New York Cross-Country camp is 7 years old and originated as Starpoint Cross-Country Camp in 2010. The founder Brian Lasher had a vision of creating a camp that trained athletes in a base training model with other athletes from schools in the area. Traditionally, kids would train on their own or with just their teams. The vision of 100 or more athletes running on different courses in the area with purpose, direction and intensity has come alive each day at this camp! Kids of all levels meet just like a team. Athletes take on rolls as leaders and mentors, while younger runners learn from an accomplished coaching staff and tremendous roll models(high school and college alumni runners). The basics and essentials of successful running and training are taught and reinforced through a developed logbook. Times and distances tell a story of achievement for every runner in camp! So it is with certainty that the runner will physically improve (measurably and significantly in the 10 days that camp entails). This was the vision in the 1st year, and "it will happen" in 2017! The pre-season is where champions are made, and the amount of state qualifying runners and teams that have attended camp is impressive! This camp is for everyone, and athletes are leveled to run at appropriate distances for their age, preparation and goals.
Provide an opportunity and positive atmosphere for the physical and mental development of successful cross-country runners.
