Great local theater! We just had a birthday party there and it was great except when we were late for the movie and another group took all our seats that was suppose be reserved for us. I spoke with the person in charge and she suggested that she can stop the movie and move seats around but how can I inconvenience everyone in the theater for a section that should have been reserved correctly. One tip I would give to the organizers of Alpine is give the reserve seat numbers ahead of time so we know the seats ahead of time instead of the day of the event. Also, I'm not sure what happened to the air conditioner but it was hot in there. We were offered free future tickets for the inconvenience. Otherwise, thank you for making our kids experience memorable. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I love this theater. It's never overcrowded and the staff is very friendly. If there is one takeaway that keeps me from giving it a five star is that it needs to be more accesible for the disabled. Having space for wheelchairs is not covering all the people with disabilities. You have to also cater to people with physical disabilities. The chairs are too low for them. Perhaps provide boosters for adults with physical disabilities as well as senior citizens. I see they renovated but forgot that part.
Hosted my kid’s birthday party there, invited all his friends to a movie with unlimited popcorn and drinks, we also got to use the party area an hour. Everyone had a fabulous time kids and adults both! My kid definitely felt very special. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We would come back again next time!
I haven’t been at the movies for a long time. The new renovations made the space more spacious/sorta modern. Pricing for food is sorta pricey but better than AMC/other locations. Not sure if it’s for AM/Early PM hours but tickets are cheaper/$7 online not sure about in person though.
This is an old-school theatre. The chairs are, if not broken, highly stressed and floppy. But I love it. I love the people who come in with the flashlight on the phone shining bright. I love the price of a matinee movie. This place is old school Brooklyn, and now I just go here to see anything I can't wait for streaming on.
Update: I’m updating my review after seeing a number of movies here over the past year. The first reason being the state of the bathrooms are sometimes extremely dirty to the point where I will not step inside the bathroom. They really should have someone checking and cleaning the bathrooms more frequently, especially on the weekends during evening movies. The second reason being that some of the theater goers talk constantly throughout the film as if they were sitting at home in their living room. I recently saw Avatar of the Water and I had to tell the two high school girls sitting behind me multiple times to stop talking during the film. It was very distracting and created an unpleasant experience. This is unfortunately not the first time this has happened. It has come to the point where I would rather just stay at home and stream the film or pay double and go watch a movie in Manhattan, where in my experience there are more people who understand the unspoken rules when seeing a movie. I agree with another review to not attend movies on a Friday night if you actually want to be able to hear the film. Old review: Good small town movie theater in Bay Ridge. Ticket prices for evening showings are $10, which is hard to find in NYC. The movie theaters are generally clean. The cinema is located about a block from the R train.
Tickets are cheap, theater rooms are decent. The bathrooms are horrible and there was kids being loud and talking through the whole movie. There’s young kids who work there and it shows, limited concession stand options but the popcorn was really good! They need a slight upgrade and good management, this is a staple in the area and I would like to keep coming here just need to tighten up and also clean!
Very large entrance, good amount of snacks/popcorn although may be pricey. Wait times are a little long but nonetheless movie screens were large and audience was not too full. Good place to see the newest movies and the staff are nice.
Affordable local movie theatre. No real bells and whistles but the matinees are adorable for everyone, especially in this day and age. A lot of kids when schools not in, some kids from other not so good neighborhoods but overall the kids aren't horrible. I hope they're here to stay.
Makes no sense to have earliest movies start at 1pm and not open until around 12:50pm with a line of people waiting to buy tickets. Other than that, movie was great, clean, and quick with service
