Alpine Visitor Center

One of my favorite place to visit in Rocky Mountain National Park. Every time I visit the park, love to reach here. Can be reached from different route but in my opinion, the best route would be to enter the park through Estes Park, then take Old Fall River Road. The road to the top is unpaved gravel road and has seasonal opening, but worthy to take it. Will have the chance to take an adventurous ride and to see a beautiful Chasm fall. While returning from Alpine visitor center, take Trail Ridge Road and don’t forget to stop at the overlooks and enjoy the Rockies!!!!!

This visitor center is without a doubt the best one I've ever been to. The location is amazing with great views, a wonderful info center, staffed with friendly and knowledgeable people, the views... Even the store and restaurant are superior to others I've been to. Definitely recommend to stop by if you can find a parking space.* *Just a note: people who come to this beautiful place and then see fit to throw their plastic bottle off the trail and into the tundra should maybe stay home. Or go to Vegas. It's obvious that they have nothing to gain from visiting here, and the park has everything to lose from their presence.

Our drive up the Old Fall River Road to reach the Alpine Visitor Center in Colorado was an adventure in itself and certainly paid off. The lookout points offered awe-inspiring views that left a lasting impression. Despite it being a mid-July afternoon, the weather was a brisk 50 degrees with a notable wind that added to the unique charm of the place. Inside, the Visitor Center housed intriguing exhibits that piqued our interest, and the adjacent expansive gift shop and café catered to our shopping and dining needs. The Alpine Visitor Center provided an enriching and enjoyable visit in the heart of Colorado's stunning wilderness.

A spectacular view towards the southeast area of ​​the park. Drinks and snacks available. Great variety of souvenirs such as stickers, key rings, glasses, etc. Among the available flavors of the sausages the most popular is that of Elk... Neat restrooms and parking available for vans and oversized vehicles, as well as handicap spots. Weather permitting, you can hike up a nearby hill at 12,000 feet for a wonderful view I recommend taking it slowly. We were lucky to see some birds, as well as marmots and even a coyote on our way out.

My wife and I visited the Alpine Visitor Center on our way out of the Rocky Mountain National Park. The visitor center was great and somewhat crowded. The knowledgeable Ranger staff was very helpful answering questions, maybe with some visitors in too much detail. We had a wonderful day visiting the park. The last time I visited was in the mid 80s. The fabulous scenery has remained the same. Roadways and walkways have improved so much. Hope you enjoy some of our pictures.

A nice refuge away from the weather! As expected, rangers were amazing! The visitors center has a small exhibit area that the kids loved! Small giftshop too, with plenty of sweatshirts in case you find yourself in need. There is a cafe next door that serves up hot beverages, and it's right next to a trail head that will take you even higher. Absolutely worth the drive!

The views from this spot are truly spectacular and awe-inspiring. There's also a charming hillside path you can explore. If you're up for a bit of adventure, it's a good idea to have warm clothing on hand. While the shop prices might be a bit high, the food store offers more reasonable options. You'll have the chance to savor delicious warm meals and coffee in this delightful location.

This place was AMAZING! Make sure you stop and look at the view behind the visitor center. We saw some elk and moose down in the valley off the over look. Also be sure to take old falls road which ends right back here. Also has the taco soup and the place next door which was pretty good as well!Visited onWeekday

Easily the most beautiful and unique visitors center in the country. It's closed most of the year, so plan accordingly. They have nice restrooms for those that can't hold it. There's an area dedicated to the history and nature of RMNP. Next door is a MASSIVE gift shop, and the most scenic cafe in the country, if not the world. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We were able to get into Rocky Mountain National Park without a timed entry pass. If you get to the park before 9 or after 2, you don't need a reservation.
