Alpine Inn exceeded all expectations! Even though we typically stay at 4- or 5-star hotels, our stay here was a delightful surprise. This little, modest hotel has it all. The morning view with the lush trees and birds chirping was absolutely gorgeous. I'm genuinely glad we spent a night here. It deserves more than 5 stars for its unexpected charm and natural beauty.
Like entering a 1960s time machine- complete with an utter lack of basic amenities, probably the original carpet and linoleum, creaky floors, poor water pressure, and the hardest beds and pillows I have ever slept on. No AC, no ice machine, no fridge or microwave. The room got so hot but we couldn’t open the windows due to car alarms going off all night. For $330 in August for a “deluxe” room I expected at least something more than a questionable budget hostel room. When I was asked to provide my input I got a response back that basically there are other places to book at, so don’t expect this place to be updated at all in the next 60 years. The location is beautiful but this motel is horrible.
The staff for the restaurant were extremely kind and friendly! Delicious coffee! Scenery in the restaurant is also beautiful.Rooms: 5/5
This is a fantastic place to stay if you just need a place to rest your head before hitting the slopes. Outside of that, I thought the beds were very stiff and found any place to lounge outside the tiny room difficult. The main lounge has one large sitting area that usually has another group occupying the space, which only leaves the bar. Walkability: Very close to the slopes. You can ski right down to lodge entrance.
I'm giving this a 4 star rating, not because it's 4 star fancy but because of other factors. This was a last minute trip and few room options available that met my handicap needs. The 1st of 2 room options was in another hotel at the resort. It was newer with more amenities but was quickly obvious not good for me. The resort was very accommodating in changing our reservation to the other room in another of their hotels. Fewer stairs, closer parking, next to the property restaurant and a closer easier walk to the gondola. They also let my daughter check-in ahead of me, which was great, since she had the kids and I was still a couple of hours away. The rooms were clean, but showing signs of wear. All of the beds were very comfortable. We loved the ambience of an alpine village. We used the hotel restaurant patio extensively. The manager and wait staff couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. The food was great, the wait could be a little long, but didn't bother us as it did others. We were there to relax and take in the scenery away from our hectic lives. The location was perfect for our adventure to My Ranier via the Sunrise entrance. It was a perfect trip and we would do it again!
The gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The rooms are very basic. There is no TV or refrigerators or microwave. Perk was free continental breakfast on week days and a restaurant on site which other locations near by do not have. The rooms could use a touch up. I didn’t realize no TVs but it has been a blessing since there is lots of sitting areas and watching the elk and all the scenery is amazing.
I didn't stay here, but wished I had... Location is great, MT Rainier National Park is but a couple of miles down the road, Mt. Rainier Gondola is located next door to Alpine Inn, and the restaurant serves very ~ very good, especially when you consider the remote location.... Next time I will be staying here...
Cute, relaxed, with some unique bites restaurant located at the base area. We visited after hiking down the mountain from our gondola ride up. Great way to enjoy an afternoon. This was a perfect cap to the long trek down. There is a full bar if you are so inclined, some neat dishes such as a tasty curry chicken rice bowl or Hungarian goulash, as well as your standard fare of half pound burgers. Dessert had some nice options such as huckleberry ice cream and a huge brown sundae. Would totally visit again in a post hike state.
Small rooms, but really clean and well done and the staff are working hard to be able to keep the whole place clean and safe. The bathroom seemed newly upgraded. The Snorting Elk and restaurant connected are both also great. Love that this is so close to the Crystal Mountain lifts and slopes. We had a wonderful time here! Thank you!
Bartender was serving without putting mask on properly fake oral cover in the middle of covid19. When I mentioned to restaurant host they just kind of said oh well... Food is ok quality; burgers are good rest of the menu pretty low quality at high price. The staff polite but in summer just treat you like off season guests. Tiny but clean double connected rooms at 295$ were not bad. Basic but good location near Mt Ranier. Avoid the hiking trails nearby completely. They are not suitable for hiking. Very dusty, unmaintained clearings any paths, not much view basically leftovers of ski season along the slope that are not pretty. I recommend heading off directly to real natural hikes in nearby sunrise area of mt Ranier.
