One of our favorite places for an easy hike with the dog. She loves it and can run and run. This park has both on and off lease areas for your pup. It's a wonderful place to walk, with beautiful views of the southern Napa valley. Dog-friendliness: This is a great dog park.
Excellent place for off-leash dog walks/ hikes. Good mix of hills and flats, trees and meadows.
Really easy, mostly flat, hot hike that is very dog friendly. Took us 70 mins to do the full loop can find the loop directions on AllTrails. Highly recommend this hike!
For a park that is well used, this place remains a gem in the crown of Napa. I use this park alot because my dog grew up running in it's fields, hills, and draws. The joy she shows while simply crusing the trails is worth the 10 minute drive. We like to trade off with Westwood Hills, which is one of my favorite parks anywhere. Both parks ars fine examples of Napas diverse eco systems. Go to both you will not regret it.
Love this place. Dogs are always overjoyed when they see the parking lot! Some grumpy people at times, but that’s their problem!!
Great place for a short and easy stroll with decent views of the Napa valley. The trail I did was about 2.5 miles, about 200ft elevation. You will be walking right next to vineyards with view of the mountains. Parking lot is quite small.
Absolutely love Alston! Especially the off-leash area where Leaf can run around and enjoy a bit of freedom. Have met so many other wonderful dog parents there!! Only thing is, do a tick check on your pup when you’re done, especially if they enjoy the tall grasses as Leaf does :
This park is amazing! There is an enclosed play area, but the whole hilltop and vineyards at the top are free range. Kona had the best time running around and making new friends
This is a lovely trail up and down hills with great views of the vineyards and the nearby town. The 2-3 mile trail branches off in several places, but it's very easy to find your way back. There are many random benches and even a picnic table. There will be dogs without leashes, even in the areas where a leash is required and there are water bowls for the dogs as well. There are not very clean portables instead of a bathroom. Not wheelchair accessible and you may be able to get an all-terrain stroller in here but you need to have some really good muscles to get it up these hills. It was pretty muddy too, so bring your boots!
Rural Park-the best Healthclub ever. No fees, No ceiling. Moderate hike, run or cycle trails, picnic, fly kite, dog section on southend. Big sky, fresh air, surrounding views of Napa Valley - wild flowers, vineyards, butterflies, birds, hills. View distant Mt Diablo, Mt Tamalpais & Stags Leap. Alston Park is a gift to us all from the Alston Family. [North & South drinking fountains accomodate hikers & pets - 2 clean porta-potties 1 for . Two no fee parking lots 1 North 1 South]
