I lost my dad on May 3rd I was confused they helped me out after I already made the arrangements next day I realized I wanted more time and asked then if I can please come in and change a few details.When I went the next day they treated me with so much patience and even gave me ideas of what I can get my dad to wear. They worked with me allowed to change my hours no extra cost and when I arrived for the funeral service my dad looked so handsome and sharp. I was so pleased everyone kept saying my dad looked peaceful like if he was sleeping. I have no complaints honestly at such a bad time I'm glad everything came out good wasn't easy but I am glad I chose them Thank you Alvarez Funeral you're staff was excellent

I recently had to make funeral arrangements after losing my mother. Ernesto and the entire staff treated us with compassion, kindness and patience at a time when we needed it the most. They provided my family with excellent service. Would highly recommend.

Our family was sadden by 2 family members passing within months from each other. We were very relieved to be able to use Alvarez funeral services for both loved ones. They are truly incredible and our family thanks them for their wonderful services. Aldo was always available when needed. He made the arrangements go smoothly. I would highly recommend their service to anyone who is looking for funeral arrangements for their loved one.

Unprofessional and lacking compassion. My family and I are under the unfortunate situation of having to arrange services for my dad. I contacted the funeral home and spoke to Ernesto. The first call went very well, as he gave me information on what costs are involved and advised me to find out some information so we could proceed with the plans. When I called the next day to set an appointment to come in to the Paterson location, he would ask me questions and then continue talking to other people in the room with him while I was talking, to the point that I had to stop and ask if I should call at a later time since he clearly wasn't paying attention to me. He apologized and we agreed on a appointment for the following day. When I showed up for our appointment today, I called and he told me he would be out soon because there was someone in front of us. After 40 minutes of waiting I called back and he stated that he was in Passaic, not Paterson, and stated that I never specified the Paterson location which I did when we spoke the day before, but he'd send someone out to meet us in Paterson. I inquired how long that would take because we had already been waiting 40 min. His answer was that he called from a separate number than what I had for him to let me know he was in Passaic and I should have picked up. I pointed out that I wouldn't recognize his personal number and that he didn't leave message, to which he answered "You didn't pick up, so I figured you left." At this point, I was in tears and had to ask what the disconnect was because things were not being handled in a professional matter at all. Apparently ruffled by being called out on the highly unprofessional behavior, Ernesto said "You know what? I can't help you. Find someone else." At no point was I disrespectful nor did I raise my voice with this gentleman and he still showed ZERO compassion, professionalism, or accountability for his actions. This is unacceptable behavior and the last thing a family needs when dealing with such a difficult time. Please do better!

We had the unfortunate opportunity to do business with Aldo and Alvarez Funeral Home in Paterson, NJ. We cannot say enough of the awesome service they provided to us. At a difficult time Aldo was on point always responsive and did the best he could to work with us in every way. I would definitely recommend Aldo and Alvarez Funeral Home. Thank you!

Horrible experience . Just left a funeral for a young lady and it wa just horrible Nobody from the funeral home was there to direct traffic. We were standing for 1.5 hour. People were pushing, it was so hot that I felt like I gone pass out. Just so sad that family an friends have to go through that horrible experience at moment like. Not professional at all. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT. ZERO STARS

Some close friends were very disappointed with how they were treated here. They felt highly disrespected when checking on making arrangements for their mother. Interesting, since all the other reviews here are positive. Perhaps they just talked to the wrong person.

They are very prefessional. Tough reason to be here but they are helpful.
