Nice large park with lots of space for dogs to run. Not usually many dogs, so its great if you'd prefer an empty fenced in place for your dogs. Water fountain in the small dog area has been broken for months. No equipment in either park. No lights after dark. Both areas get super muddy when it rains. Large, potentially dangerous cracks and holes in the big dog area when it hadn't rained for awhile.
Really a decent little dog park except for a lot of fire ant mounds, which is common for Texas anyways
The large dog side of the park is great for dogs that love running. However there are a lot of puddles & mud, especially just inside the entrance gate.
Fun and secure a spot, we could use more shade. Grateful that Alvin Parks and Recreation’s put this park up, much needed
Nice dog park but bathrooms were locked
The dog park is big with both a small dog area and a large dog area. The gates are set up to allow secure access into and from the park. Downsides are that the park was overgrown when I was there, a huge hole near one of the broken water fountains was filled with water and should be filled in. Also the water doesn’t work inside the park and there are no lights at night. This should be and could be the best dog park in the area.
Great dog park. Plenty of space to run and chase toys. Has water fountains and clean up station.
I was having a great time here despite the mud until my largest dog was able to escape through the far back gate. Luckily I was able to catch him and get him in the car. Just be careful folks this park is lacking the most important thing for any dog park. IT IS NOT SECURE
A safe place in the middle of Briscoe Park behind Thelma Ley Anderson YMCA surrounded by soccer fields and the new, well-lit disk golf course. A bathroom is about 1/8 mile walk, but is rarely open. There are two pens, one for large dogs and one for small dogs, both with benches, poop bag dispensers, and combination doggy/people water fountains. Unfortunately, they are in a basin that stays wet and muddy for weeks after a rain. A hose and spigot are available just outside the fence to rinse your muddy pooch off. Take towels for the dog, you, and the car!
Been playing disc golf at Briscoe. Haven't been to the dog park yet. From what I've seen it's a good place to take your dogs, especially if they're indoor dogs and need a place to run.
