A community college Theatre program offering an Associate in Sciences degree for its students and at least four productions per year to its community.
TheatreAC is an exciting program dedicated to providing its students with a quality education supported with invaluable practical experience. For over forty years, Amarillo College has proudly provided a first-class theatre curriculum and has seen well-over two-hundred productions grace its stages on campus and around the nation.
Our students can earn an Associates degree and leave with many credits on their resumé. The faculty and staff also have many contacts around the region to help our graduates continue their higher education goals.
TheatreAC specializes in giving each and every major opportunites beyond the stage as well. With affiliations with Texas Educational Theatre Association and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, our students are given invaluable workhop, network, and research opportunities with numerous other colleges/universities. These connections facilitate the ease of transfer for our students to four-year programs around the nation.
Theatre Arts majors get personal attention that cannot be found anywhere else. Whether a student's goals are to perform, be behind the scenes, or teach this exciting art form, TheatreAC is a family, and it strives to help meet each student's objectives.
Potential students, interested in being a part of this fun yet challenging program, should contact Ray Newburg or Monty Downs. Scholarship opportunities abound at Amarillo College and TheatreAC, and the audition process for TheatreAC is easy and begins each May--giving each potential major ample time to decide if TheatreAC is right for him/her--no rushing around at the beginning of the Spring semester to get financial aid.
