Great comfort food diner. Family owned, not a chain, refreshing to all the chain restaurants nearby. Food was delicious. Best French dip sandwich I’ve ever had. Will definitely go back. Wait staff friendly albeit newbies. Great spot to eat and visit. Support local places, as few exist in this area.
A lot of good reviews tainted by a couple bad reviews. This place is great! Good service, good menu, good specials and great soups. Local family owned business, with the owners often in the place. You're likely to be seated by her as anyone else. I've been here more than a dozen times, never left unhappy or unsatisfied. Portions are good and prices are mostly under $10 for most of the plates. Their specials are hard to beat so look for the sign as you walk in the door. It's another coffee hang out place in town. They have a good kids menu and have a one day a week special where kids eat for $0.99. If you need the place for a company party or such, they have a large room they can seat you in. Also, Amber Family Restaurant is a big sponsor of local events. So those of us who live locally should make sure to show our appreciation by frequenting their business. If you see the meatloaf special, just say yes.
The service was awesome. I give 5 stars to our waitress Brittney. The food reminded me of a TV dinner I had as a child. Or that which you get at a cafeteria. Caned veggies, iceberg salad frozen meats. If you like that kind of food it's great. The restaurant it's self was clean although dated decor and aging facilities.
We eat at Amber regularly. It isn't fine dining, but it's good dining. There are no cloth napkins, but there are friendly people. You aren't going to find pretentious menu items, but you will find a great variety of things to choose from. Your kids won't be out of place, but welcomed warmly. We appreciate that we can take our 5 boys out to eat somewhere that appreciates our business.
Went right before the ownership change, it was very disappointing. We asked our server what the vegetable was, she said green beans, and when asked if they were fresh she said of course. We ordered our food, and the green beans were definitely canned. Pretty flavorless, and the rest of the food was about the same. Boring flavors, unimaginative food, didn't taste very fresh at all. Not really sure why the reviews have been so good overall. If there were a single thing we had ordered that we were happy with we would try it again, but I doubt we'll ever step foot there again.
The good is always great at Amber's! We enjoy going there and I usually get breakfast. The staff is always wonderful and nice to converse with. I also know from personal experience that Amber's is very supportive of the emergency responders. Will always continue to go here. Thank you Amber's restaurant!
This is your typical "diner"; it's not fancy food, but it's consistently good. My wife and i eat there regularly, and I'm always surprised by how quickly our food comes up, even with 7 people in our party. I've never had an issue with food that wasn't quickly and politely rectified. I've never been overcharged, either, and in fact, one time we had two people in our party that had to leave before our food order was taken totally our fault for taking too long their sodas were removed without us even asking i fully expected to pay for them, since they were legitimately ordered . I don't know about any of the personal issues here, but I'm pretty sure there's a better place to voice them than a Google site review; a discerning reader might note that such compensation was sought and received, but still apparently needs to take to Google and write a poor review.
The pancakes are the best around. The Burgers are great and everything I have had has been delicious. The wating staff is super friendly and when we come in already gets our normal drinks without asking. If you are looking for some good food and a friendly environment this is the place. If you are looking for someplace spotless and sophisticated, you will not find it here, this is a small town good old boy sit down supper place.
The food is good and the portions are also a good size. Service had been good every time we come with friendly staff. The only reason that I leave of that final star is because they tend to overcook their meat. Pancakes are great.
I give two stars because the cooks do a good job of home cooking. But the evening manager is too busy with her stories and the young waitress we have gotten, lacked the service part of the job. The waitress was so busy ignoring us, we got the cooks attention and he had to get her attention for us. The mornings are the best time to go in. The place could use a power spray inside and out.
