So long as you park in the old Macy's parking lot, you should have no problem securing a spot! We went and saw Sound of Freedom, which was a powerful movie. When we got there, it was great to experience the excitement of a large crowd coming to see movies. The employees were in good cheer and the facilities were clean. What more could you ask for?
Some of the seating could be upgraded but overall a great movie experience and wonderful staff. I have the AMC A-List and recommend getting that if you see 2 movies a month it pays for itself in fees and ticket cost alone. Thanks AMC mission valley for getting us back to the theaters and out of our homes.
This theatre is so beyond overdue for a refurbishment. The seats are uncomfortable and desperately need to be updated. The picture and sound quality are terrible. There was a huge line for concessions and overall it seemed like employees were scarce. We saw Oppenheimer in IMAX and the picture was unclear and flickered for the first 30 minutes. Sound was bad and unbalanced. Overall just a terrible experience. I will not be returning to this theatre anytime soon. Go to The Lot or another theatre that actually cares about the experience.
No ice in any of the 6 soda machines, and the auditorium was at least 90° inside. Opening weekend for Oppenheimer and multiple people including myself left after 20 minutes. AC wasn’t on and they refused to turn the fans on. Extremely hot and uncomfortable. Not only were other customers getting their refund, but when I was in line getting my refund I heard multiple customers complaining that they just came out of a sweaty 3 hours of Oppenheimer in a different auditorium. Another guest made the complaint that while they did eventually turn the fans on in their theatre, the fans were blowing visible dust everywhere. For the price of tickets that AMC charges, this is absurd. Probably the worst movie going experience I’ve ever had. If AMC knows they are having AC issues, they should start cancelling showtimes. Such an inconvenient experience. The fact that we can’t even go watch it elsewhere because it’s sold out everywhere just really adds a cherry on top of this whole experience. Thanks AMC.
Pretty grubby place... Came for my first visit here since moving to San Diego to see a 70mm screening of Oppenheimer and was completely misled by the 70mm part. The screen was smaller than average size and gave the original filmed format a serious downgrade. I probably won't return, but mainly because the theater is outdated and crusty, dirty, sticky.
My visit to this theater was a total letdown. The seats were uncomfortable, reminded me of a spirit flight. To make matters worse, the AC didn't work, leaving us in discomfort throughout the entire movie. Save your money and find a better theater option.
We watched Oppenheimer in auditorium 20. The experience couldn't be any worse. The vendor machine is out of ice and missing some flavors. The auditorium didn't have AC on for the first 1.5 hours. The movie even stuck when we went into the most thrilled part, ruining the momentum and excitement of the scene. The most ridiculous is whoever is responsible for playing the movie decided to rewind it back 10 minutes from where it got lagged. And this is the second time I experienced all of above at amc20.
$18 ticket for a rerun in stadium style seats. Theater was way too warm, was sweating by the end of the movie. Out of seven soda machines only one was working. Butter and jalapeno station was disgusting. Disruptive patrons and poor soundproofing, could hear the movie two theaters over throughout the entire film. Boo
Most of the time I come here is to experience their Dolby or imax theater. And I have to say their AC never works for these massive auditoriums. It’s always hot, watched Mission impossible dead reckoning and most people left sweating from the leather and heat. Also their security during the week is lacking and I did not feel safe.
I was a bit terrified reading the reviews after I bought tickets online but it was totally fine. We went at 11 am to see Oppenheimer in IMAX. AC was working, staff was pleasant, bathrooms were clean. I noticed matinees are $4 at 10:45 on Sunday’s so we’ll def be back again. It’s not as comfy as theaters with recliners but the imax trade off seems worth it.
