Hope Lodge is St Louis’ free hospitality house for adult cancer patients traveling to town for treatment. Instead of staying in a hotel for weeks or months, and worrying about the cost, they stay with us for free and focus on getting well.
The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. We help people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis. Hope Lodge St. Louis is a home away from home; a comfortable, caring free place to stay during cancer treatment.
Hope Lodge St. Louis provides free overnight stays for cancer patients who must travel to St. Louis for life-saving treatments.
To stay at Hope Lodge St. Louis, patients must:
~Have a referral from their doctor, nurse, or social worker verifying treatment
~Be receiving outpatient treatment at a St. Louis facility.
~Bring one person, age 18 or older, who can care for them. Rooms are limited to two adults.
~Residents and their guests must comply with house rules, including a strict “no smoking” policy in the building and on the campus of the American Cancer Society.
~All referrals must be approved by Hope Lodge management before a guest can stay. Referrals are approved Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Although taking a tour of Hope Lodge prior to checking in is not always convenient, we recommend that the patient and caregiver do so if possible. Our tenured staff will make you feel welcome long before you arrive.
While everything is done to ensure the contentment of our guests, our Hope Lodge is not a medical facility. Any patient requiring a skilled nursing staff is not eligible to stay.
