Everything needs updating. Stayed in 2 different rooms, one at the beginning of the week and another at the end of the week. In both rooms, the toilet leaked. Limited TV channels. The pool was cold. The hotel had no extra blankets. The hotel has no breakfast, only serves coffee. The best thing was the view of the arch.Rooms: 2/5
This is a comfortable place to play Casino games, and just relaxing amd comfortable place overall. This is the kind of place where you might have a depressing day, but when you walk into this Casino, you IMMEDIATELY just feel better and uplifted as soon as you walk in. I don't how they do it! Everybody from the security guards, to the ones who run each game, to the ones that work in food to even most of the customers and gamblers themselves are some of the nicest people. They have plenty of games at this Casino. And this Casino is opened very late hours. It closes at 5 am and opens around 8 am. Plus, most importantly, I feel VERY safe at this Casino. They have military grade security. The security guards AND police at this Casino look like soldiers. They generally don't bother anyone. You could be who you are. But, when it comes to keeping the place SAFE, they MEAN BUSINESS!! And I love that about this place. But, out of the MANY; probably hundreds of times I have gone to this Casino, I rarely see any incidents at all. They may happen as often as every other full solar eclipse. This Casino has free drinks as in soda, coffee and juice. Their coffee is some of the most delicious in St. Louis!! And this Casino has a no smoking policy inside. So, there's no smoke in the air inside. You'd have to go outside the building to smoke. So, overall this is a comfortable place to go. The only complaint I have is the location. If you're coming from the St. Louis side, it can be a PAIN driving across the bridge; driving across the terrain and making those turns to get to this Casino. I have done it many times and hated each time. And I hate that they got rid of their NICE buffet because their buffet had some delicious food. But, this is a VERY VERY nice Casino and a nice and safe place to relax. This Casino definitely has a positive feel-good vibe to it which we ALL could use!
Wow this casino had some of the kindest staff and locals you could ever encounter. We had such a fun time at the casino, which is small but has everything you’d enjoy. Everyone at the restaurants was SO nice to our family and the food was really good. Great weekend spent here. 10 min from St. Louis activities tooRooms: 3/5
Overall, it was not a bad hotel for one night. We are traveling across the country for a move. The room definitely needs some repair and some cleaning. But it was tolerable. For a place with a casino. I couldn’t believe they stopped serving food at 10 o’clock! That’s pretty ridiculous. And as far as customer service goes, I would say it was disappointing. People who answer phones and at the desk aren’t friendly at all. But our room did look directly at the St. Louis Gateway arch so that was pretty.
The casino was a waste of time. From who. I seen service was non existent. Took 40 min to find out I couldn't get a Loyalty card made. Slots choices were from the 50s and half the tables were closed. The one good thing was the loaded fries from the chicken place was off the chain. The service there was awesome. But if I were you I'd go to any other casino. It's not worth it. They really need to close this Casino there are way better ones.
We Stayed at the RV resort. Close to everything. The place is very clean. I enjoyed the close walk to the Casino, my wife and son like the Hotel Pool. Close to the Arch and downtown St Louis. Rates are great for mid week stays and weekend rates are still not outlandish. We will make this a regular stop on our Travels... The Light Rail Train has a stop close by so even if you don't have a dinghy you can get around.
I want to tell you about the best customer service experience I’ve ever had in my life thanks to hotel staff member Joshua Roberts. And I don’t say that lightly - I’ve been traveling abroad my whole life and I’ve worked in the service industry myself for nearly 20 years. I experienced a very difficult personal crisis while at the hotel, and to say that Mr. Roberts went above and beyond his job description is the understatement of the century. I know that I took a WHOLE LOT of his time, and I was very much in hysterical crisis mode, but Mr. Roberts treated me with such compassion, such kindness, and such patience that my own mother couldn’t have handled it better. We were at the Casino Queen because it was the place my sweetheart and I stayed the night before our wedding also a wonderful experience, but the level of service Mr. Roberts provided was truly impeccable. The hotel itself is great, and what a priceless gem they have in staff member Joshua Roberts. Kudos to your hiring team - you really know how to pick ‘em.
The location is on an older side of the city. There is a lot of abandoned appearing buildings and run down areas on the way but we didn't experience any issues during our stay. The hotel and casino grounds are well kept and staff is friendly. Great view of the Arch from the hotel. Rooms: Rooms are clean but we did have issues with cable connectivity. Other than that there were no real issues with the room. Nearby activities: Near downtown, plenty of spots to eat, a short drive to Busch Stadium and the Gateway Arch. Safety: Do not walk in the area. The area is in East St. Louis, near downtown. We didn't know what to expect as first time visitors to the city but there was a lot of homeless and abandoned areas in downtown. The hotel/ casino grounds themselves were fine. We had no safety concerns or issues while on the grounds. Walkability: The location of the casino is not within walking distance of much. You can walk to the Metro public transportation which is across the parking lot but if you want to travel to eat at restaurants you must use a vehicle. Food & drinks: The casino has a few restaurants inside where you can sit and eat and have drinks. You have about four options for different cuisine to choose from.
My review will be 4 stars. We traveled for a birthday getaway. Upon arrival the excitement set in as we saw the hotel and the casino both waiting for us. During check in we waited a few minutes before speaking up and saying “hello” in hopes someone would come to the desk. Finally a young lady shows up on her cell phone to check us in. We get settled into the room, which was great. Besides the stains on the floor, the room was incredibly spacious and the beds were comfy. We had a bit of a late check in but was finally worth it. It should be worth mentioning that hardly any of the cable tv channels came in. Maybe only half were there. The next day, we set out for the casino and food. This was the day of the birthday celebrations. In this area, the employees were more kind and helpful. Chiquita was an absolute delight while doing her job. Really stood out from all the other employees. The cashier and everyone else from this point in the casino area were great as well. We had a good time just being there. We placed a reservation for the Bridgeway restaurant and had no real complaints. The hostess refused to take our picture even though there was no one else around as we were early. That was a bummer. I will say whoever their cook was absolutely knows how to cook a good steak!! Hands down the best I had. Overall we enjoyed and will definitely be coming back!!
The room was very clean! The only "bad" thing was that there were a couple of loose tiles in the bathroom and I kept hitting my foot on the sharp corners of them. And no I didn't report it. I will definitely return and I do recommend this hotel to others! We didn't require service that's the only reason I gave that area 3 stars.
