The ACLUofC is the undergraduate chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union at the University of Chicago. Nationwide, the ACLU is known as one of the strongest defenders for civil rights and civil liberties. The ACLU is our nation's guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country. On campus, the ACLUofC promotes the ACLU's policies through events, meetings, and activism. Together with students, other RSOs, and community partners, we are working to expand awareness and protect your liberties.
"So long as we have enough people in this country willing to fight for their rights, we'll be called a democracy."
-- ACLU Founder Roger Baldwin
