NSP is an outreach project of the University of Chicago's Office of Civic Engagement.
We connect University students with local schools and other sites, including after-school centers, government offices, and a women's shelter. Students can work in different roles, like tutors, teaching assistants, preschool specialist, and technology coordinators.
The Neighborhood Schools Program is an opportunity for UChicago students to:
- Explore neighborhoods surrounding the university
- Engage in meaningful service to surrounding communities
- Help children succeed
- Partner with teachers
- Work flexible hours from quarter to quarter
- Receive competitive compensation
-Talk with local teachers, aldermen, social workers, and researchers in workshop settings
