I had their wings and fries. They were tasty and cooked well. It was a good lunch meal. Filled me up.
Don't let the outside scare you off. The good here is on point and by the number of take out orders i saw go out it shows. Inside you can sit and eat but the atmosphere is not great. I say get your food and go enjoy it elsewhere you won't be disappointed.
The Philly cheesesteak is to die for! The Reuben is also. Even getting it through door dash, it always arrives fresh and delicious!

I ordered fries, extra crispy. They were pale and limp and not at all crispy. The burger looked so delicious. I couldn't wait to bite into it. What a disappointment. It tasted slightly like the faint smell of canned dog food, and no I am not joking. The texture was mushy despite being fully cooked. The patty looked so good and meaty but the flavor and texture is off. So off as to be inedible. What a disappointment.
I always get the sweet chili wings & salad combo. Soooo good lol my friends make fun of me for how big my love for American Deli is.
Honestly wasn't impressed with the Garden Salad. Over priced for such a small portion. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their wings. Fries were great, because they were soft like I like them with season. Features: They did have signs displayed about social distancing and you were not allowed to touch sauces and utensils.
American Deli is a great spot to eat. The customer service is really good, and full of friendly faces. The menu is broad . My favorite combo is the shrimp fried rice with garlic parmesan wings! I highly recommend this place!
I've been in Winston-Salem for 10 years and today I tried this restaurant for the first time. Let me just say that I am not sure what people's definitions of good food include, but there is no way that anyone with half a taste bud could ever mistake this disgusting food for anything but trash! The reviews are totally misleading! Let me also add, that we African Americans must stop spending our dollars where we are treated subpar. The customer service was run like a prison cafeteria. They rationed out napkins, straws and salt packets. Paying customers were not even permitted to touch the seasoning they actually sprinkled the seasonings on people's food as the customers held their trays open...like children! I will never spend money on this again!!
4.4 on UberEats. 4.2 on Google. What could go wrong, right? Boy, was I wrong! Never tried this place before, but they have a Sub + Wings + Fries meal that sounded like a good idea, so I checked the reviews and went for it based off of them. The fries were regular, crinkle-cut fries. No issue with those. The wings were small and dry and fried too hard or they were old. The subs were the biggest disappointment in my food life. Ham & turkey subs, extra meat, extra cheese, with mayo, mustard lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, banana peppers, s&p, oil, vinegar, oregano. Where did the green peppers come from? And where are our pickles? And why does it taste like a sandwich from a brown bag from the school cafeteria that I used to get because I didn't bring my own lunch for the field trip? And why does it smell like a hospital?!?! I was happy they forgot to extra our meat and cheese! Never Ever Again!
