Who is the American Health Journal?
The "American Health Journal" is the largest and oldest (1988) continuously airing health program on television and airs on PBS, CBS, FOX and NBC in California, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Washington, Oregon, Tennessee and Utah for a total of over 35 million viewers. The American Health Journal has been a consistent winner of national awards for production excellence accumulating over 91 national awards since 1988.

in the United states---coast to coast----from UCLA to Howard University. Every top medical organization has sponsored an American Health Journal segment or series of shows.
What is American Health Journal?
American Health Journal is an “in the field” medical television show that is comprised of 6 interview segments. The segments are underwritten by high profile medical institutions as a way to educate the public on medical treatment, research and future developments within the organization.
How can an institution get a segment on the show?
The American Health Journal is not a pay for play, this is PBS. Regardless of financial strength, The American Health Journal looks at many different institutions and ideas to make the very best medical television show each week. American Health Journal interviews several institutions and topics to get the right fit for each show. Staying on the air is dependent on the viewer interest of medical topics presented and quality of production, so this combined effort has always been our first concern.
What are the fees for?
These fees cover direct production costs. The American Health Journal production fee of $2,991.40 for a (4) minute segment which includes the production and post production. Roughly 55% of the institutions that apply are accepted as segments. After the segment is broadcasted it may be used at company events, trade shows, and even as part of marketing kits. The only exception is that it cannot be rebroadcasted. If the topic needs more time an entire 30-minute show can be produced for $14,000.
