American Museum of Natural History New York

One of the best museums I've been to. You'll need a map, you can easily spend the whole day here. The gem/geode collection was beautiful, the dinosaur exhibit was so cool and had a lot of real fossils/bones. Loved seeing the different animal species. Chicagoan here : YOU MUST GO TO THIS MUSEUM!!! They offer an immense amount of interactive experience that can be enjoyed by all ages. Every hall I entered was just a whole new world of information that was perfectly laid out and explained. Highly recommend seeing the dinosaurs and gems. I feel like I didn't even see half of the exhibits but I'm definitely going to go back again in the future!

This museum is absolutely awesome if you are interested in history, space, animals, and rocks. It is incredibly easy to get lost in this expensive building filled with tons of exhibits. Tickets start at $23 for adults. If you are a New York resident and have proof, tickets become a “pay what you wish” option. No matter what you do, make sure you make take a reservations online! This is a must if you want to get into this museum. Lines are incredibly long and you will not be able to come here without a reservation online. I do wish this museum had a better flow as it can be quite confusing to get to different areas. They don’t all inner connect, making this kind of a crazy scramble of people at peak hours. I really enjoyed their exhibits of animals as well as their exhibits of different people throughout history.

Absolutely fantastic and amazing museum. I visited many museums across the world but AMNH NYC is my favourite. You must book tickets online received free tickets; corporate membership, need to go early as huge lineup will be there and map is a must. I enjoyed all exhibits but mostly the gems and stones section, giant whale, elephants, dinosaur and countries section. There is restaurant in the lower floor serves freshly cooked meals and food is really delicious. All staff are very helpful. Highly recommended

We were pushed for time and only had 90 minutes to spare so this wonderful , but huge museum could be very daunting. We had admissions from our 5 things city pass very good value and just needed to sort out a quick slot for entry . A lovely lady near reception suggested we join the next free guided tour at 11:15 to see as many highlights as possible in 75 minutes. Note the museum is huge . Even several days will not do this justice so be realistic in what are your key things to see . The tour was great and Pat our guide was charming and very knowledgeable. She was a volunteer and this was her first tour since covid suspended tours so we were very lucky. It showed us the highlights of the lower ground floor . If we had more time we would have gone up to see the dinosaurs and watch a few of the films . If you have seen the Night at the museum films then just walking through the diorama halls is a great fun thing to do. A great visit and we are very thankful to Pat to showing us the highlights and her favourite things.

part of my New York City Pass and I have to say, it was an incredible experience. The museum offers a wealth of information and exhibits about different cultures from around the world, including a strong focus on Asian, African, and American cultures. The collection is vast, detailed, and well-organized. Each exhibit is well curated and informative, with interactive elements that make it engaging for visitors of all ages. I appreciate how the exhibitions bring the visitors closer to the history, cultures and natural environment of different regions of the world. One of the highlights of my visit was the Hall of Biodiversity, which has an amazing display of animals and plants from around the world. Additionally, the Butterfly Conservatory is a wonderful way to experience the beauty and fragility of butterflies. I highly recommend visiting the museum to anyone who is interested in natural history and different cultures. It's a great place to spend an afternoon, and the city pass makes it an affordable way to visit one of the most important museums in the world.

Wonderful place to visit with family or friends. I specially love the space and mineral exhibits. You can touch the meteorite . Such a thrill. Kids love the dinosaurs exhibits. They have one cafeteria and 2 food courts. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained.Parking is affordable. Had a great time at the Museum of Natural History. I got my tickets online and the wait on line together in wasn't too long. The exhibits were all excellent. I especially loved the Rock & Mineral collection as well as the special Shark exhibit. One of the best museums in New York with 4 floors of plenty to explore. Well worth it. Allow around 5-6 hours if you want to go through it properly. Food court is expensive so be warned.
