About an hour and 15 minutes from the Everett/Lake Stevens area in downtown Bellingham. Great educational field trip just be prepared for a long drive. There's also a show that is fun and educational. Call ahead to catch show times.
We visited here with some friends because we were exploring Bellingham with no particular agenda. We were really glad we stumbled into this place because it was a fantastic little gem. We felt especially lucky to have run into Ken, one of their tour guides who explained all the artifacts and their fascinating stories. He did a fantastic job of explaining radio, electricity and the series of scientific discoveries that related to each artifact. I think we all came out of this place having learned a ton. For example, I didn't know that you could have a crystal radio receiver with zero electricity! He taught us how to say hi in Morse code. I also learned that there used to be x-ray machines in shoe stores so parents could tell if little Johnny's shoes actually fit! I love the wild and weird contraptions in this space. It's definitely worth checking out, especially with a fantastic guide like Ken.
This place is amazing. I learned so much! They have some super awesome historical pieces, but also have fun interactive activities. 200% recommend for anyone and all families! The staff are extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly. I expected to spend 1 hour here, ended spending hours taking in the experience. The show is a MUST!
If you are into antiques and rare collectibles, this is a place for you. They have lots of originals from the early 1900s and late 1800s such as, radios, record players, TV, and much more. Definitely stuff I have never seen before. Staff was great, friendly, and helpful. Educational as far as what inventions there was back in the days. I had a chance to talk to John, President/CEO of Sparks and educated me on how they were able to gather these rare pieces. Even showed me other things he has in his collection. Great places to take your kids show them how technology was like back then. I even ended up buying from the CEO a Crosley Model 51 radio made in 1923.
Such a great place to learn and try new/old things! I went with my husband, who has a great knowledge about electricity, and my five year old son. We all were amazed with amount of astonishing, historically significant, exhibit items. Stuff were very kind and put so much efforts to explain and inspire every visitor! Presentation was excellent! Educational and fun. We will be back, for sure!

Not only was I boggled by how impressive the collection itself was, I was truly delighted by the docents. Not only did they do a lot to educate me, but I was really impressed with how respectful and engaging they were with young visitors in particular. As a science communicator myself, it warmed my heart to see such friendly skill and professionalism; these guys are top notch at what they do!
As the name suggests on another meaning, If you want to make your kids interested in Science or sound, make their brain gets the spark, bring them here. They have amazing collection of artifacts here. My two kids thoroughly enjoyed the museum. Also if you are going on a weekend, do not miss the show at 2:30pm. That will make them happy. They had 3 Tesla coil in the show. Also, if you have a pacemaker, that show is not for you, stay outside. It deals with high voltage stuff, so why take risks? All in all, it worth for your kids and your insider nerd.. We may be back someday.
Must see! Amazing collection of electrical devices throughout history, including an actual Edison light bulb. Interactive exhibits and VERY knowledgeable docents. Definitely check out when they have the show on weekends. It is educational, amazing and hilarious and only $5 in addition to $10 admission.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$6–10
