Amherst Hospital

Went to try and fit a couple X-ray d that should have been at U.H. The desk ladies were busy talking and eating. They asked no questions the lady,Lynn w dark purple hair after while hey. Finally found she wanted me. Disestablished thing ask out loud in little that still open to lobby “what’s your social” I’m think I don’t want to give this out load. So I speak it softly. Then the normal questions the whole time making me feel like I got called into principals office for doing something wrong. So then finally “why are you here?” She said where? I’m guessing but inferring that she means what is getting X-ray and I say “I’m hoping you have that information which she said is a spine e ray which could be there for my lumbar but the one that hasn’t been looked at since full neck fusion last August is cervical area she says she can’t find. Then I sit there for sod a little bit and she seems to have stoppped. And I say “ if you can’t find it I should leave. And I felt she was be rather snappy at me. She said something to effect of “ it wouldn’t take so long if I told her what I was there for. I did. X-ray. Not knowing if they had correct ones was in my head bc it’s been over six phone calls if we sent it. We don’t have it tell them to resend it. We have it but Amherst is closer to you. Amherst” we don’t have it. Dr office we sent it. Again back snd forth. “Oh we sent the wrong one” So me wanting to know what they had intended to do today vs what was supposed to be I’m not sure but after sitting there and then asking again if you could find it was yes. No” oh here it is. You’ve only had one procedure one order and one botched order and personnel so nasty. I got up and said I’ll get it somewhere else. UH May be good but definitely not great. And Lynn should get social skill trailing and fried after that. She would be landfill worker. Manure Spreader may also be correct calling.

The day I went to the ER I didn't know the place was shut down for full service. I was kidnapped by life are ambulance service n forced to go to mercy hospital in lorain when all my doctor's are at university hospitals. That was a nightmare n mercy is the worst hospital in ohio! Unprofessional, non-caring staff w untrained people working there now. You will get substandard care n no real tests will be done when you get there so they won't have a real diagnosis! Rude doctors who are uncaring to patients needs.

I went into UH Amherst for a head injury I had a few days prior. If I recall correctly, the visit took about three and a half hours. They did nothing for me apart from drug test me under false pretenses they implied that the tests were in relation to my head injury, and give me a CT scan. When they found nothing from either to CT scan or the involuntary drug test they concluded that I had experienced a panic attack and sent me home. On my discharge papers, they also stated that my symptoms had resolved by the time I had gone in, which was obviously a complete lie. I had the worst headache I had ever had in my life over the course of three days, difficulty hearing or seeing and numbness in different parts of my body, and of course was very clear with the doctor and staff that I was still experiencing these symptoms when I was there. If they had resolved themselves beforehand, I WOULD NOT HAVE GONE TO THE ER. This was of course to prevent me from taking well-deserved legal action against the doctor in the future if the head injury turned out to be something, which it did. Whiplash concussion with a cerebral spinal fluid leak, which can in some cases require surgery. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. If I had trusted the information they provided me with, I could have injured myself further.

Wish I could give zero stars. The doctors almost prescribed medication that could have sped up my grandma's passing. They didn't know what they were doing. A lot of the nurses were very slow, from shaving their legs to being rude to family members. I fell in love with their respiratory therapists, they are the only good ones there. They are the ones that care, not much of the other staff. It looks like an old insane asylum. The rooms are incredibly tiny, leaving the patients staring at the wall all day. They kept my ailing grandmother in a humid, 80 something degree room instead of moving her. I blame them for a lot of what she went through. Even when she passed they didn't not move us to a private room, leaving her and my family exposed to passersby and other staff. Horrible place. Please don't send your family member there.

Needed an xray, so i signed in, knowing there was 1 person ahead of me. I couldnt help notice the women behind the registration desk were dressed normally...in no special hospital attire....t-shirt,sweat pants. Etc.They would appear and then disappear for lengths of time. People off the street would come in wait at desk, and since no one was there they would leave. It was kind of an eerrie feeling because there were only 3 of us in the waiting room. The place was silent...no activity, almost abandoned feeling. Anyways I waited 1 1/2 hrs before I was called. I cant imagine how it would be if it was busy! I am a Mercy Hospital proponent...and quite frankly the differences between the 2 is glarring. As I sat there with the building lifeless I couldnt help but think I would never want to have to go to the ER there....the xray tech was fine, personable & did her job quick & i was gone in 15 minutes. Its too bad...the place needs some sprucing up so not to give an abandoned vibe. Id recommend someone mann the main desk at all times in uniform & should be a personable type person. The waiting room is stark...it needs a TV & some magazines. Maybe even a self serve coffee pot & water station. Just my 2 cents...I hope to never need to return & if I do Im going to Mercy where theres husstle busstle & professionally dressed employees....and tv's!

I had to leave two specimens for the Lab,as this is the closest UH to my home. I was told I didn't have any paperwork,and she could just throw the specimens away.I told her my doc has the orders in the computer! She looked and found the order.Really,throw my specimens away? Very unprofessional,and unfriendly! I will never return to this facility again.

What a joke! Instead of triaging you for an ER visit you get scolded for coming in at all and ringing the button to get attention even though that's what the button is there for. Then while you are crying and in pain for over two hours they ask if you are better....seriously if I was better I wouldn't be here....nurses and admin staff arguing with patients and no docs im sight

Horribly long wait for a blood test. Traveled to this hospital from Elmore in hopes that it would save time . Wrong! After an inquiry, found out there was only one staff person doing the blood draws! Over an hour wait.

I brought my 7 year old to this hospital and I was taken back immediately and he was taken care of. The nurses and doctor was very kind and professional.

They didn’t want to check my one year old baby because she didn’t have insurance yet, this hospital is TRASH!!!!
