he Animal Hospital of Whitfield County was created in 1978-79 by Dr. William H. “Sonny” Mathis and is a mainstay of the Dalton/Whitfield County community today. In 1985, still in its growing stages, the Animal Hospital, suffered a great tragedy. Fire was set to the building by persons attempting to rob local pharmacies. Although destroyed beyond use, Dr. Mathis, continued to treat patients and provide veterinary care from his home. The rebuilding process was long but successful. The practice continued to grow and flourish through the years building a vast client and patient base.
Although the Animal Hospital has seen it’s share of veterinarians and staff members over the decades, one thing has always remained true. The Animal Hospital has offered quality veterinary care to it’s clients and patients each and every day. Dr. Richmond purchased the clinic in 2007.
