I went 10 years ago, and it had a few changes. Before it was a Nepalese food, it was of Indian cuisine. There's a little difference, but the sizes of the dishes are not as big as they were before. The food is delicious and amazing. My favorite is Chiken and Salmon tandoori. Inside is decorated with Indian culture pictures. I recommend having a garlic or herbal bread with your meal. Waitress told me some years ago that the owner sold the restaurant for becoming a Nepalese cuisene. Come to Annapurna. I am sure you enjoy your food time with friends. Vegetarian options: There's a menu for veggie options.
We ordered Momo's and paratha from this place. Parathas were undercooked and Momo's were OK. Restaurant is almost empty and food is OKish. Staff is okay and place is right in downtown. I will recommend trying paneer and rice but don't try parathas. Paneer paratha barely had any paneer and was completely undercooked. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options
Was visiting for work. Ordered medium spicy lamb curry and shrimp korma. Favorite was the shrimp korma - fresh jumbo shrimp and very tasty. Lamb house curry was also excellent. Naan was soft and fresh. Excellent Indian Food. I noticed many locals were getting takeout. Great find!Food: 5/5
Tried this place for the first time. I love momos so anytime I see that on a menu I have to try it. Ordered the mixed momo, samosas, and mixed tandoori. I have to say I was a little disappointed in the quality and quantity of food given the price. There were only 7pcs of momo for $12.99 which is a lot less than any other nepali restaurant for a higher cost. Also the momos were very heavy on cumin. Out of veggie, chicken, and lamb momos, the chicken ones were better. The samosas were okish. The tandoori looked a lot better than it tasted and it was definitely not worth the $22.99 price tag. I understand inflation and wouldn't have minded the cost if the food was better. Maybe the other items are better ‍
Wow! I haven’t even left the restaurant yet and I’m here to tell you how amazing this place is! The veg. Momo and garlic naan are incredible! I got the Mauli bee bite off the cocktail menu and it’s also amazing! Prices are the most reasonable I have seen in the area. I’m here only two nights unexpectedly for work and this is a don’t miss in Oakland! Great for vegan options as well!
Malai Kofta - never looks like this anywhere , terrible taste. Rice given was not well cooked. Dal tadka - just pressure cooked dal with raw onions and no tadka in it. Garlic Naan - very very hard. Never order from this place
Went for lunch with co workers. They have loads of tables inside. Nice tall ceilings and windows. A little low on staff but they hustled. The chana masala was SO good..and the salmon tandoor. The onion naan was different from all others I've had -- they cook the onion into the dough rather than putting it on top and it was SO yummy. We also tried the coconut naan since we had never seen it before and were disappointed. Stick to the regulars!! Will come back for sure.
I found my new Indian restaurant! Good food and strong drinks makes this ‍ very happy! I ordered the chicken Tikka medium and it definitely had a kick to it. The drink was a Himalayan waterfall, it cost 11 dollars so kind of pricey but I only needed 1. I requested the TV be changed to sports and Raj changed it with no problem. I will be back here for sure!
Terrible chicken biryani. Heavy dense rice with chunks of raw red onions and nuts. The naan was excellent. Too pricey for the quality. Other dishes might be better but a big disappointment overall.Food: 1/5
Love this place! Definitely my go to for palak paneer. The staff are always lovely and I really like supporting this business. I’ve tried a lot of Indian food in the Bay Area and rate this one very highly. If you’re wondering if it’s worth a visit, it is.
