If you are looking for a clown, then make an appointment at this doctor's three-ring circus. His office staff is ridiculous, he is rude, wait times are comical if you don't have anything else to do in your day, and he abuses a standard of care required for proper maintenance of thyroid conditions. He used thyroid medication to speed up weight loss and made me sick. If you are seeing him and he has managed your thyroid numbers into the red and not the green...and he is only focused on how much weight you are losing...RUN!!!!!!! It can make you sick or kill you and he isn't doing your health any favors. Find a real thyroid doctor who didn't graduate from a university in the Caribbean. Save yourself the headache. If you still want to sign up though and you believe the positive feedback on this site, then give his office a call...you won't be disappointed if you like clowns.
I’ve been a patient for over 10 years. It’s been getting worse at the office the last couple times I’ve visited. Patel himself was very rude about one of my doctors and used aggressively rude profanity. Today I called the office as they left me a voicemail to reschedule an appointment I had for months, due to Patel not being in. I call and I’m put on hold, they say one caller ahead. 20 minutes later I assume there’s a glitch in their phone system so I hang up—thinking I can tell one of the office members when they answer the phone. Instead they answer very quickly to where you can’t get in a single word, and said 4 callers ahead of me. I should have just called back later, but something about them not allowing a single word in before being put on hold bothered me. I called back, many times, trying to have them speak to me like a human and have a 30 second conversation instead of placing me on hold. It was at a point where I was extremely anxious, and this was taking a lot of time out of my morning. Finally I get connected, to where the office staff was clearly just angry at me. They said if I had an emergency I need to call an emergency number… I couldn’t even explain what happened to me at that point as I was so flustered and angry at how inhuman I felt to how they were treating me. Having office staff be so rude to not even speak to a patient briefly is beyond me. I do not care to go back here. I’ll be surprised if they’re open another 10 years, many folks in the AV are not a fan of Patel that I’ve spoken to. It’s a shame.
I regret scheduling an appointment with Dr. Patel for my husband, his bedside manner is horrible! He may be an educated man but has no manners whatsoever, and a foul mouth. Does not care for his patients at all! His stuff is great I can't fault them for his shortcomings so they get one star.
Don’t come here unless you plan to wait 2 hrs +. He overbooks and does not have the patients full attention. Leaves random and picks up personal phone calls. I couldn’t do it anymore. Bad experience overall. One great thing is that there’s plenty of parking. So I’ll give it a 2. No vending machines so prepare to starve or come with a full stomach.
Very personable and friendly. He explains everything in great detail. Answers my questions with informative and intelligent answers. Only drawback is an over booking issue where you do have to wait some time before your appointment yet it is so worth it. This doctor cares...a rare find these days.
This doctor is very rude and disrespectful. When I express to him was not going to talk to me any kind of way. He told me to get out you fat cow.
Some say rude and abusive, some say direct and to the point. This guy is both. I'm fine with direct, but it doesn't have to be rude, mean, or unprofessional. He is very prejudice toward heavy people without being very helpful. "Eat from this list of food" doesn't go far if someone doesn't know how to cook, has allergies, or there are other barriers. Weight loss is not that simple, and he never considers that extra weight might be symptom rather than a cause. He just assumes if you're "fat" lose weight and solve your problems. He also prescribes meds you may not actually need or forms of medication pill vs liquid etc that may not be clinically indicated and sees you more frequently than is required, which just feels like a money grab. I think he's knowledgeable and I think he cares, but he's also myopic and rude. There are other options in town and I'll be over there if you need me.
The most caring doctor I've ever had. And a great office staff to assist. He has a reputation for being strict. But he knows how to get results. Dr. Patel's compassion and ability to pull out the best in his patients has changed my life. I strongly recommend Dr. Patel to Anyone serious about taking charge of their health and is willing to trust , listen and learn.
He is a horrible doctor. He has a terrible mouth.he insulted me and my relative for asking him for an specific hormones test. He got offended, now my relative is severely sick because he didn't want to do the test. This happened a while ago. We were able to avoid this terrible situation if he check early enough my relative condition.
Have been seeing Dr. Patel for over 15 years for thyroid issues and he has been a blessing. He gets right to the point and expects you to do your part. Also sent my father to him with diabetes that had gotten out of control and he probably saved his life. He is hard on his patients because he cares. He is friendly and funny and easy to talk to if you don't waste his time-- he doesn't want your B.S. / excuses. He is well worth the wait.
