Christian was an amazing tour guide. We enjoyed our private stroll, and we learned so much about the amazing edible plants and fungi in this area. We were extremely impressed with Christian’s education and expertise. Not only did she make it fun, but she taught us so much. The highlight of our trip! Our foods being presented to us at dinner was an amazing experience.
No Taste Like Home was an awesome, fun learning experience. It was great to be out in nature and learn about the available bounty that constantly changes. Dimitri and Kristin were amazing guides and were so knowledgeable. They were also fun and funny. Our kids 9 and 17 yrs both thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was great to talk openly about foraging vs. going to the grocery store to get our kids thinking about alternate ways of being. Thank you!!
Had a great time foraging with Damitri and Kristen! They were really kind and funny! My husband and I learned a lot and took home lots of plants! My favorite part of this tour was cooking our plants at the end! Mmmmm!! We are from Chicago and wanted to do something unique in the area. We 100% recommend this tour!!!
Kat and Christa were amazing and this was one of the best outings we’re done. Really fun and we learned a ton. Doesn’t hurt that Kat whipped up a delicious dish at the end which was really nice!
AMAZING experience! If you are even considering, do it. Very informative and the guides know what they are doing. Right down to making every person comfortable to participate no matter the situation. Dimitrios and Sarah were wonderful guides. You will see, learn, smell, taste and enjoy. Highly recommend.
The beautiful fall leaves were a lovely accent to the experience with Demetri and Jessica. Foraging was easy and educational as we enjoyed Mother Nature’s harvest. Dinner at Bull and Beggar was a tasty addition. I highly recommend the add on experience.
I booked this tour for my husband and I during our recent vacation in Asheville. My sister had recommended it, and thoroughly enjoyed her experience. Hannah was our guide - it was clear from the beginning that she had a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with our group. Even though we were a group of strangers gathering together, Hannah promoted community and connection which I think enhanced the experience overall. It definitely felt like we were embarking on a journey of learning together. Towards the end of our foraging time, we went out to look for things on our own. It was neat to apply what we learned. After we all reconvened, I was surprised that our group found so much! Hannah went through all of our findings, and then prepared a small snack for us with what we gathered. We were able to take home findings that interested us. We made reservations at The Marketplace for the forage to table experience and they made an appetizer from 3 of our foraging finds. As we ventured through the rest of our trip, we began to pay attention to the plants and mushrooms around us on our hikes we didn't eat anything, just tried to see what we could find! Safety first! We definitely look forward to booking another foraging tour when visiting in the future.
We had a great time with Justin and Kristen today. Very knowledgeable and able to adjust to our needs and work off of our existing knowledge base. I learned so many things! It was fun to take our findings to a local restaurant too!
This was such a cool experience. We found so many different mushrooms and edible leaves, berries, and twigs. Christian and Jessica did such a great job of explaining everything to us and the final taster with our foraged chanterelles was delicious. I would highly recommend.
Hannelore was our guide and she was absolutely charming and knowledgeable. Although the timing of our foraging didn’t coincide with mushroom season, she found many things for us to enjoy and gave us instructions for preparing the edibles that we found. We have already made several of the things that we collected and look forward to finding more. Wish we lived closer so we could get a season pass. Even the kids age 10 and 6. Enjoyed it and are constantly looking for things that they recognize. My littlest loved the red clover and the wood sorrel the most.
