I have worked for The Bridges of Appleton for 2 1/2 years as a CNA, and I can honestly say this is the best facility I have worked at. They offer workplace advancement, they are willing to work around school hours, and show appreciation to the staff for all their hard work. As staff, we take pride in caring for the residents. I don't think I have ever worked with a more dedicated team of people than the one we have here. Everyone is willing to help another out when possible. You will not find a better facility to work for, or a better team to work with. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a change.
I think peoples expectations of a nursing home are not accurate. The staff does care, the family's now their loved ones are well care for. This facility has turn over, but it's not like everywhere else. Was a great experience as a registered nurse there, working with elderly, dementia residents. I loved my job their and would recommend it to anyone in the area. Yes they have turn over but hat profession doesn't? I loved the care given and friendships received from coworkers, management and family/community. I would recommend employee there at any time!
I was hired to be the assistant social worker and was fired after 5 days with no explanation other than they needed someone who could just jump into the job, which would be completely impossible for anyone because the job requirements are unclear. The facility itself isn't terrible but could definitely use some updating. They fail to utilize available technology, only the management staff has e-mail access making it difficult for information/education updates to be understood and implemented by line staff. The social worker speaks negatively about her peers and cuts corners rather than delegating tasks. There is an extremely high rate of turnover amongst the nursing, care and kitchen staff to the point where hire on bonuses run between $500 and $5000 depending on the position. The nurse who checked my TB test intentionally falsified the date/time of the check so that the test would not have to be repeated. Makes me wonder what else is being falsified by staff. Multiple residents complained directly to me about the laziness of care staff and the lack of regular bathing/personal hygiene care given.
I have to honestly say, it is so difficult to find a decent place for long-term care, nowadays. This is a great facility where residents are truly being taken care of. They have great caring staff and great new leadership team now. This facility has changed so much in such short period of time. It is almost unrecognizable! Definitely a great place to be whether you are looking for a short-term rehab or long-term care. This place can be called "home"
Working for The Bridges of Appleton in the Activities Dept is super rewarding. When you have almost 2 years there and have residents looking forward to all activities for the day is priceless. Also doing room visits with residents everyday that aren't able to come to Activities and reminis with them is always enjoying.
What a poor excuse for a nursing home. They do not take accountability or give straight answers. It took them 45 minutes after they said my husband had a stroke and was paralyzed. I was later told by someone that had worked there the rule is when in doubt send them out, but apparently that thought process was not in effect that day. Please take my advise and don’t send your loved ones there unless you are ready for the worse care. My husband now having a hard time eating puréed food, having trouble drinking, is partially paralyzed, having extreme trouble communicating and is a shell of himself from a few days ago
I have been working at The Bridges of Appleton for one year as the Director of Activities. I can honestly say that the positive growth this building has made in such a short time is simply amazing. I’m excited to continue to be part of a team that goes the extra mile to care for the residents we serve.
My mother was brought here January 2018 .She was a fall risk hemotoma on her brain, broken wrist and dementia .Weeks there she had fallen multiple times .The doctors at the hospital specifically said what if she falls at home .Convince me a nursing home was a safer place .Bloody mom in nasty tile floor at a nursing home was not what I see as a safer place .I visited her daily and daily I saw staff sitting around .Id go in she's in pain .She's frantically trying to gather her things and not one person noticed . I called many a care meetings and was looked at like I was an alien .Everyone including the adrc had said speak to the home social workers, We had , We asked for help with filing medicaide. This women every time I walked by was eating and drinking starbucks . After a month I had called medicaide only to find out the social worker well she didn't help .Medicade never received her application . We needed this in order to get her out of this hell hole . The answer was one weekend they looked by mom in the ward locked unit with people who have severe dementia and screaming .It was stressful for me I can't imagine how upset my mom was .Her mood was worse she wanted out badly .This just got worse ,I caught false reported meds .Lieing reports .Falls often .by law I am supposed to be called and no calls to me .I spoke to the nursing director and well I got they left messages .no messages were left .no calls on caller I'd from them .I'd go and see bruises cuts what's this from .and constant problems .Finally I went tyo the administrator which is a joke .every single issue I brought up she answers with a excuse .A damn excuse .I don't want excuses .I left more angry then I was in the first place .Now let's go back in January and we are now in April .mom was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer .told by the homes own doctors .I had told many over and over she has cancer .she's in pain .oh we didn't know .Well yesterday April 2 I was finally after alot of work by myself got mom moved .When being admitted into the new home shock came .No where in mom's health records from bridges does it state mom has cancer .guess this explains why not one person wanted to or cared she had cancer .Do not and so repeat do not let your family members be placed in this home .I wouldn't allow my dog to be cared for by this truly incompitant place .
They were extremely kind and thoughtful! Really made us all feel at home and took great care of Aunt Viv!
Strongly recommend not to be a vendor for this company. It takes them forever to pay their bills and the never respond to messages and emails.
