Applied Behavior Learning Center provides comprehensive & innovative therapy for children with autism & delays through applied behavior analysis.
Applied Behavior Learning Center is founded on the desire to provide comprehensive and innovative therapy for children with autism and other developmental delays. Our philosophy is to treat each case with personal and passionate care, to strive for recovery, and to improve the lives of every one of our clients and families.
To best meet the needs of your child, ABLC staff receive in-depth training prior to working with clients, as well as on-going supervision, education, and training from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. We believe staying current in the field of ABA is our professional responsibility and offer many opportunities for our staff to grow and expand their skills and knowledge of the latest behavioral approaches.
ABLC starts the therapeutic process by building a positive relationship with the child, creating a fun and rewarding environment in which ABA therapy can be successful. This approach allows us to better assess, analyze, and target identified behavioral excesses and skill deficits, creating individualized treatment according to the specific needs of child and family. By using a combination of proactive and reactive teaching strategies, ABLC can optimize the learning opportunities and progress of your child.
While building up motivation that is often lacking, ABA uses proven and effective teaching methods that involve breaking down targeted skills into simple steps and teaching these individual components. We use different levels of prompting to help with acquisition and retention which also helps reduce frustration and confusion. Once the child is able to independently complete the sub steps of a skill, the steps are built back together until the targeted skill is fully attained.
In order to create clear and consistent behavioral expectations we work with your child at home, in school, and in the community making behavioral changes realistic and attainable for your child and family. Through continuous training and collaboration with parents and caregivers, ABLC strives to provide tailored treatment for your child. We work to develop independence in a number of skill and behavior areas including behavior and emotional regulation, critical thinking, problem solving, developing and maintaining meaningful relationships, gross, fine, and oral motor skills, language development, appropriate verbal and nonverbal communication, listening comprehension, eye contact, and many others.
