Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in The Hammocks, unincorporated Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.BackgroundArchbishop Carroll was established in 1998 by the Archdiocese of Miami to serve the growing Catholic population in southwest Miami-Dade County. The school sits on 40 acres of land intended to meet the needs of the growing population. The campus has a "college" look and has opportunities to develop as the area develops to meet the needs of the 21st-century learning and beyond. The school is named after Archbishop Coleman Francis Carroll, the first Bishop of Miami. As of 2008, the school has been administered by the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles.Primum Regnum Dei is the motto of the school: Seek First the Kingdom of God.Curriculum includes college preparatory courses: Advance Placement (AP), Dual Enrollment, Honors, and regular college prep tracks.For students who need the extra academic challenge: The school provides Primum Regnum Dei Scholars Track as well as Academies for Law and Liberal Studies in which students can earn up to 30 college units and graduate as college Freshmen. Because of the school's campus, More academies are planned to be incorporated as the needs of students arise.
