What a neat place!!! You will tour the museum with a handheld radio and listen to a story being told. I preferred to read about everything vs listening. I was truly amazed: this place exceeded my expectations. We will follow the trail of the settlers coming west up into the 1960’s. The characters are truly human like!!! The displays are amazing and well done. We really enjoyed spending the morning here.
This was a fantastic place to go for our three boys ages 7-12...probably the best museum experience we have had with them. The way the audio and experience was laid out made it into a bit of a scavenger hunt for them. We took a little over an hour and they were really engaged, not wanting to miss any of the numbers/content.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$16–20
How cool !!! So glad we stopped in. Took about an hour and a half for us since we listened to every single recording and took it all in. We thought this was a very well done museum! Friendly and helpful people work there. It has so much interesting information and is clean and a comfortable temperature inside. It's got amazing historically accurate displays. I loved the dramatic thunderstorm and the other effects. If you love history you'll appreciate this one!!! If you don't love history you should still go to see the way it was done and look out the window to see the traffic below. That is so awesome! I encourage everyone, especially those interested in the past and those with school age kids, to stop by.
We had a great time, super educational! Makes me want to learn more. Beautiful outside! Took about 90 min to go through the museum. 50 different major points to hear.
We didn't have a lot of time, so we just took some pictures, made a purchase in the gift shop, and left. We plan on stopping here again and spending a lot of time. It is amazing and we can't wait to visit and see everything. This is a great place to stop in your travels, and kids will love it. Bathrooms are very clean. There is an area where you can go eat some lunch under a gazebo or you can sit on the edge by the river. There are little ponds/lakes you can walk to, as well.
There is a pretty hike, some historical items to check out, and a gift shop to visit for free. The gift shop has lots of Nebraska souvenirs, locally made items, and snacks. There is an admission fee to go upstairs to see the museum and admire the view over the interstate. However, it is a reasonably fun thing to do on a family road trip. There is also an area that can be used as an events center. **we were disappointed to find the maze is gone.
Great place to take a break from 80. Clean bathrooms, nice friendly older gentleman working the museum. State info center also located inside as well as a gift shop. Outside has some nice statues and a great bridge and trails to hike/ride. Can buy fish pellets to feed the fish. Didn’t get a chance to go see the museum, but will definitely next time with son!
Ken welcomed us in with a cheery mood and very helpful. He got us started on our self guided tour and we were also able to use a wheelchair for my mom for free so she was able to go through the tour and enjoy it. It's a must have to stop and do with the kids or your family such a great place. They also have a giftshop with really cute items to purchase.
Lived in Nebraska since 1998 and have never visited this wonder. It's a shame it took me this long. One of the best museums I have ever been through!!! A must stop. Plan on an hour-hour and a half.
The Archway was amazing and we absolutely loved it. The Bronze sculptures were beautiful out front. The gift shop had alot to offer and there is something for everyone. I thought it was going to be like any other museum, but when we went upstairs we were blown away. It is very interactive with lightning and they did an amazing job staging things. I suggest you go and see for yourself.
