The Kearney County Historical Museum houses memories of Kearney County since the Civil War. The museum is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 1-4 pm.
Admission is free, with donations accepted.
The Kearney County Historical Museum has more than 7000 items which are perserved in four historical buildings:
- Minden Schoolhouse
- Store and Post Office in Kearney County
- Railroad Depot from Keene
- Brick Country Schoolhouse
Several artifacts from the neighboring towns of Axtell, Heartwell, Norman, Minden and Wilcox each having a specific room. Also, many historical articles such as old photographs, books, magazines, and newspapers are on display.

The Museum provides historic tours. Popular tours of the 24 area cemeteries and grave sites has just been completed. Now the Museum will be touring county churches. Recent agricultural tours have been to see Lloy Dean Rush's Farm Toy Collection and to Gene and Marjorie Olson's Farm to learn about restored tractors.
