Wow! Can't believe I've lived here my whole life and have never been here. Small, locally owned and has been in the same location for 70 years. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. I had chicken Fried Steak with mac and cheese and you can definitely tell everything is home made. Tasted the fried shrimp and Rueben sandwich as well and not sure which was better because they were both so good. The prices are also great, especially in these times of everything being outrageously expensive. Will definitely be returning here as often as possible.
Ate here otw to Galveston for a cruise and we got more than we paid for and even took some home. Next time I’m in Houston I will plan to be backFood: 5/5
If your in the area this throwback cafe is on point, food and service are amazing! Highly recommend.
The food never disappoints! Always delicious! Service Outstanding! If I lived closer it would be my go to restaurant. Had the Greek Omelette and my Husband had the fried catfish!
That was a beautiful experience. The food was great, portions are good, environment is excellent. What a great place for the classic diner experience, feels like home when you go in. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian omelette and sides to choose from, not very many veg options but anything you get will be great.
Great food, awesome atmosphere the staff are allways friendly. The owner stops by to make sure everything is to your liking.. Kid-friendliness: Family
We LOVE City Cafe. Food is always good. Service is always good. It's the most affordable breakfast place you'll find nowadays. Just wish they had better parking options but everything else is great. The inside gives an old diner vibe, love it. The waitresses are kind and always on it with the coffee. They work together to make sure everyone is taken care of, even when it's busy. I definitely recommend this cafe to everyone I know.
First time here! Parking was a little tight but was able to find a spot eventually. The place has the retro vibe diner feel, it was clean and our server was friendly and attentive. You sit yourself when you get in. I noticed that some of the chairs/benches needed to be replaced but it’s ok. The other side of the restaurant has newer chairs and tables. Coffee was fresh and great, kept it refilled and my omelette was delicious. I just didn't like how the sautéed tomatoes, onions and jalapeños weren't mixed in with the egg but still good nonetheless. I ordered the side of bacon and they gave me a plateful. Service was quick, will definitely be back when I'm in the area!
Good old school diner, this place has been open since 1953! Delicious breakfast, and the lunch options on the steam table are nicely sized portions and affordable. They have different lunch options everyday.
Mexican omelet was excellent I cut the jolly pepers, great hash browns! Girlfriend had scrambled eggs, pan sausage &HBs & her meal was also good! Can't wait to go back!Food: 5/5
