By engaging the community in educational and artful experiences through our galleries and programming, Art Access continues to play a significant role in helping to eliminate social barriers and create an inclusive world for everyone through art.
Art Access is a non-profit organization that builds an inclusive and diverse arts community in Utah through creative opportunities for people with disabilities and other marginalized communities, and through public engagement in the arts.
We offer a diverse collection of mission-driven programs, including gallery exhibitions, workshops, artist residencies, literary arts activities, a mentorship program, and community outreach. Many of these programs have benefited from partnerships with local educational, artistic, and public service organizations. We are an affiliate of VSA, which is a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts through its Office of VSA & Accessibility. We are the only arts organization in Utah that focuses on serving individuals with disabilities and, in 2014, we celebrated 30 years of making a creative difference in our community.
Art Access embraces the idea that the arts provide the perfect means for people to tell their stories, articulate their identities, and to educate a great number of individuals for the common good. Through its philosophy of inclusion, Art Access serves a diverse population of adults and children with and without disabilities, as well as the elderly, youth-at-risk, refugees, those experiencing homelessness, veterans, and other disenfranchised peoples. By engaging the community in educational and artful experiences through our galleries and programming, Art Access continues to play a significant role in helping to eliminate social barriers and create an inclusive world for everyone through art.

Art Access programs focus on the Wasatch Front and target adults and children with and without disabilities, other disadvantaged groups, and the general public. Art Access ensures that all people have equal access to the arts. We have four large program umbrellas: Artistic Development for People with Disabilities, Public Engagement and Advocacy, Art Therapy, and Art Everywhere. The Artistic Development for People with Disabilities program category encompasses our Partners Artists Mentoring program and Skill Building Workshops, while Public Engagement and Advocacy allows us to reach the public through our two galleries, public readings, and our Breaking Barriers project. We offer Art Therapy for survivors of sexual assault, homeless adults, and adults/children with Epilepsy. Lastly, Art Everywhere includes Integrated Arts and community-based Contracted Workshops.
