The Art League of Baytown has an exceptional art gallery and center where we exhibit our work for sale and give art lessons year round for adults and kids.
Local art league with 150 members, some out of town, demographics are widely varied in race, ethnic background, age, gender and education. For fifty-four years we survived without a home of our own but in 2008, we were fortunate to partner with the City of Baytown to acquire this new art center we now call home. We have weekly art classes for adults; weekly art classes for special needs adults, age 22 and up; monthly art workshops at Shriner's Burn Hospital in Galveston; Summer Youth Art Camp for children, ages 7 - 12; An annual spring art competition; an annual Christmas Gift Gallery and several art workshops as scheduled throughout the year. Members rent wall and shelving space inside the gallery to exhibit their artwork for sale throughout the year. We have the artwork of over 20 local artists and in November and December when we hold our Christmas Gift Gallery, we have over 30 local artists showing their artwork for sale.
