Description

Art Projects International (Art Projects) is a contemporary art gallery and art consultancy based in New York City with over twenty years of experience working with a global network of artists, art professionals and collectors. The gallery provides highly personalized service and works closely with museums, corporations and individuals on their acquisition and private collections.

Founded by Jung Lee Sanders in 1993, with its gallery space originally located in SoHo, ArtProjects was one of the first galleries in the United States dedicated to providing a platform for contemporary artists from Asia, and remains focused on introducing new and significant international artists to broader audiences. Over the years, the gallery has served a vital role in fostering the careers of many artists and continues to present critically acclaimed exhibitions, publications and other projects in the United States and abroad. In 2011, Art Projects opened its newest gallery space in the historic district of Tribeca in Manhattan.

Works by the gallery artists are represented in major institutions around the world including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Brooklyn Museum, The Vilcek Foundation, Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Harvard Art Museums, San Jose Museum of Art, Shanghai Art Museum, National Museum of China, National Museum of Contemporary Art Korea, Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, M+, and the Farjam Collection, among others. Many of the gallery's exhibitions and other projects have received critical acclaim in major international publications and media including the New York Times, New Yorker, Artforum, Artnews, Art in America, Art Asia Pacific, Flash Art, CNN, International Herald Tribune, Barron’s, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Newsweek.
