Had a really nice visit to the zoo this past week. It was clean and spacious with lots of things to do for everyone. My favorite animal exhibit was the polar beers and desert exhibit. They’re also expanding this zoo with an Asia continent that will be open in 2026. Keep up the good work guys! This is zoo is def worth all 5 stars!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
This zoo is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly. Zoo is so big, be prepared for extensive walking. They provide convenient amenities throughout, including water filling stations, restrooms, resting benches, and lemonade stalls. You'll find gift shops and food courts at key junctions. Please note that certain attractions come with additional charges: Butterfly Gardens $3, Carousel $3, Treehouse Trekker $3, and Giraffe Feeding $5. Strollers are available for rent for kids. During our visit, we noticed that some animals, like the lion and polar bear, were missing, possibly due to the hot weather. There's a kids' playground and kids Zone in the North America section. The zoo offers a tram service inside, running every 30 minutes to various junctions, and complimentary shuttle service to the parking lot. Parking is ample. Overall, it was a great experience!
The zoo was nice but the layout was strange and way too long between each exhibit. The food was way overpriced and the app to order ahead wouldn't work. The exhibits themselves were well done and most had good points where you could see the animals. We could see that a lot of construction was underway so may be in a little bit it will improve.
Fun place for the family to spend the day! You can walk the park or take a tram for easier visiting. Our visit was just over 4 miles of walking! Friendly knowledge caretakers. Lots of animals to see. Can't wait for the Asia exhibit to open in 2026!
Extremely well maintained with a lot to see. It's absolutely beautiful. There are 2,600 wooded acres of land. Of which 500 are developed. It is the world's largest natural habitat zoo. Whose major focus is conservation. The Zoo has worked closely with organizations around the world to protect wildlife populations and their habitats. It truly is a must see!!
Went to the zoo with my adult children and 2 young grandchildren. It was a Saturday in early October and the weather was perfect for the 3 miles we walked through the zoo. Most of the animals were out as it was morning feeding time for many if them. We got some great photos. The kids were excited to see what kind of animals were around the next corner. Some of the indoor exhibits got crowded but the outside viewing areas were not much of a wait to get up close. We were not happy with the concession stands as there were long waits seemingly due to sparse staffing. That was our only downside. Highly recommend this beautiful zoo to anyone that appreciates nature and seeing animals in a natural setting.
ABSOLUTE BEST ZOO I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO We visited this Zoo a few months back, in the Summer, Make sure you wear your walking Shoes just over 5 miles of Zoo to cover you WILL NOT be disappointed take a day & go check it out!! Watched a series "Secrets of The North Carolina Zoo" on Disney Plus that is what sparked the Interest to go check it out It was a Fantastic experience
Most of the animal enclosures are really nice, but some are too small, especially the area with the alligators. The zoo is very clean and maintained, with beautiful scenery. Great gift shops and plenty of food locations and rest areas.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Went with my family as they were visiting. Definitely a good time and they enjoyed it very much. Good viewing points, though not all animals were out due to some cleaning that was being done. The desert biome was really well done and a favorite. Definitely start with the Africa side!!!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Besides price gouging, it's a wonderful place. The kids had a great time. There were a few enclosures closed, but we still saw tons of animals. Everything was clean and well kept. But do yourself a favor and pack a lunch!!! It was $78 for me and my 3 kids to eat a lunch that probably cost $25. I about croaked.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entry$16–20
