Went to Ashville mall while on vacation yesterday. It has your usual mall staples like a food court and all the mall type stores. My girl loves Earthbound and bought some stuff in there. We also hit Old Navy for some sale items. No mall visit is complete without cinnamon pretzels from Auntie Anns. All in all this is your standard mall experience. If you like malls it's big and full of shops. Always air conditioned on a hot summer day. Worth a visit for that alone. I reccomend a stop at Ashville Mall.
The food court had a great selection. Plus kid playzone. Lots of businesses to choose from for general shopping. We will be back.
I went to the mall yesterday. I’ll start by saying I love the mall! I got there at 10 when they first opened and needed to use the restroom. I was extremely disappointed in my experience. Every single stall was filthy, covered in feces or urine, or just trashed in general. There was only one stall barely useable. This caught me off guard because they just opened. Do they not clean the bathrooms before opening or at the end of the day for the next day? I was really appalled. However, my shopping experience was great and the stores were awesome, but please work on the cleanliness of the restrooms.
Although mostly empty, there are still some great stores. Auntie Anne’s pretzels, the Lego store. Go out spend some time with someone and have a great shopping experience here.
It is a good mall but a lot if empty stores. The pandemic has done that to a lot of malls. I just received a reply about my review. Orginal post I am actually lowering the review because of comments Asheville Mall made had me rethink the original rating. This mall has lost 1 major food chain in the last week. Their food court has at least 2 places empty at a time. They have also not managed to fill a large department store that left years ago. Most of the Asheville Mall stores close between 7-8pm. I personally do not care if the mall is at 90% capacity if some of the stores are closed due to lack of staff and customers. From someone who used to work at this mall, it is unbelievable how it has changed. Honestly, the Asheville Mall doesn't have anything special. You can go to The Outlets or The Haywood Mall about a hour away and get different and unique stores. I truly regret making my original post because now someone at the Asheville Mall decided to make a passive aggressive comment, and I do not tolerate passive aggression. You want honesty, I will give you honesty!
Today I bought a necklace and went and sit down and forgot to pick it up, so we went back to where it was and it was gone. The women at zales called security to see if one of the janitors had seen it or someone take it. Thanks to Sam ,DELTA4, DELTA7, and Charlie he had thankfully picked it up. I'm so very grateful to them for working hard to find it. Not many businesses would've worked hard to locate it.
For the most part we had fun! Everyone was super nice! Except a person in earthbound. My daughter dropped her candy and I asked if they had a trash can and she said they won't throw away any food.. which was rude considering we were just trying to be decent human beings
We tried to come last week to let our kids play before shopping. At 10:40 we tried to go in the entrance near Lens crafters. An older lady who claimed to be “security” was very rude and said we absolutely couldn’t come in until 11. She was hateful to 2 other groups also trying to come in. I’ve always been able to come walk the mall prior to the stores opening but she said that was a lie and mall walking hasn’t been allowed since before covid. I did it last winter so she’s definitely lying we had several very disappointed kids in our group and the other families. There was zero reason we couldn’t come in. This lady needs a refresh of the “rules”.
I used to love the mall but now half of the stores are vacant and they close at 7. Closing that early is crazy, I walked in tonight expecting them to be open until at least 8 and didn’t get to go in the stores I needed to because they were closing. Instead I just ordered online. Lately I typically just order online or go to the outlets when I need something. I wish it had a Cheesecake factory or a bowling alley or movie theater or something. It just isn’t what it used to be Edit in response to the owner. I think those hours are very short no matter where they are. That isn’t the reason I would prefer the outlets. Obviously I didn’t mean literally half. 8 vacancies is quite a lot.
Usually very laid back atmosphere, not a whole lot of snobs OR slobs, pretty decent place to shop... Prices very, seems to be very private, meaning they're not out the doors trying to sell, but if you walk in they take very good care of you. I like the recliners, they ‍ message, it always very kempt and tidy, people usually mind their own business, but still has that southern charm..
