Athena Roasted Chicken

There are so many great Mediterranean restaurants here in Orlando, however we were so lucky to come here! I was in the mood for some roasted chicken, so this place popped out just by the name itself. First of all, prices are insanely reasonable. For $10-12 you can get a huge meal to fill you up! Do note that prices are temporarily up by 10%, and this is a separate charge you see on your receipt. Now the quality is just as insane. I got a half roasted chicken with potatoes and pasta salad. The pasta salad was perfect, it had the right amount of that 1000 island dressing. It was subtle enough to not overpower the dish, and paired with perfectly cooked pasta, it was fantastic. The roasted potatoes were also really good. I thoroughly enjoyed the light, mildly seasoned chunks of potatoes, allowing for the chicken to shine. Now the chicken. Oh my goodness. This was beautifully roasted. The chicken had a nice, slightly crispy and majorly flavorful skin that covered the juiciest chicken I’ve ever had. There was so much flavor infused throughout the meat, and it literally would fall apart on its own as I was eating it. Overall this restaurant blew us away and I would come back again in a heartbeat!

A friend recommended Athena for dinner; glad I went! The restaurant is CLEAN & bright with plenty of seating inside - and some outside seating as well surrounded by lots of plants. / The lamb gyro was super-delicious. Also got a side of hummus a bit soupy with some butter-grilled pita bread yummy & a Greek salad average. Decent prices + Delicious food + Friendly staff = I'll be coming back for sure!

My wife and I have stopped here often to pick up some take out for lunch or dinner. This restaurant specializes in Greek cuisine, rotisserie chicken, and other delicious dishes. We had our chicken with 3 sides, broiled potatoes, green beans, and zucchini, and for dessert we enjoyed some baklava. Woww was all delicious. I will be back. I highly recommend this place!!!

Good experience with the employees during pick up. Terrible experience with the food when I got to my office 5 minutes later and attempted to eat it. The items were not fresh. I included a picture of what items not to place in the customers tray or plate. The onions, tomatoes and cucumbers were old and mushy. I had to scrape it all off in order to eat the main item. This should not be a practice at any restaurant. Proper employee training is required. If you and your employees would not eat items then they need to be tossed and fresh items need to be made. This was my second try at this place. Sorry but after each visit I was left disappointed by the food. Fix this problem if you expect people to return and help keep you in business.

Best Gyro on Pita in town! Soo good. We have been going here for many many years. Food is always fresh.

Delicious! I had the half chicken with two sides and shared a large Greek salad. My two sides were potatoes and zucchini and tomatoes. The salad had a small amount of potatoes which was a first for me. I recommend this for anyone wanting something different and delicious! My photo is what I couldn't finish! Generous portions here!

1/4 dark meal with green beans and red beans and rice; complimented with a wheat roll. A meal to make Momma proud! I will definitely be back!!!

We had the chicken gyros since they're known for their chicken and it did not disappoint! Fantastic ingredients and that pita bread was so tasty. The red beans and coleslaw were fantastic too. The real treat though was the Rice Pudding! Wowwww! Amazing! The texture and flavor were perfect and I don't know what special spice is in there cardamom?, but it was revolutionary. Cannot wait to go back!

Super delicious whole chicken and potatoes. I bought 2 whole chickens for a Friendsgiving dinner I had. Saved me a lot of time!

Only giving star’s for the young lady who took my order over the phone and man that took my payment. They both were friendly and efficient. As to the food no stars and here’s why… I purchased a family meal and a gyro. I’ve had plenty of mouth watering Greek food before. I’ve purchased from restaurants and have been severed in homes of Greek friends. This was no where near it. Perhaps this was an off day. But it was way off. The gyro meat was thin and crispy. It didn’t taste good at all and was thrown away after the second bite. My chicken has some flavor but was somewhat dry. I don’t know what the potatoes were but could’ve been fresh. Perhaps parboil potatoes, not sure. I do know that it had a off putting smell and taste with no lemon flavor at all. I couldn’t finish my food. Hopefully they can improve. I wouldn’t return or recommend.
